The herbal essences and loreal clay are good for greasy hair.

I use this one too. Stocked up today on the shampoo and conditioner as they're half price in Superdrug. £1.93 each I think.

I was recommended Ketoconazole shampoo by the doctor, it says anti-dandruff on the packaging but it's great for anyone with a sensitive scalp. You can buy from Boots. I highly recommend it! m.boots.com/h5/cat_hub?unCountry=uk&path=%2Fen%2FBoots-Anti-Dandruff-Ketoconazole-20-mg-g-Shampoo_865598%2F

Aveda scalp benefits works for me.

WalkingZed · 08/07/2016 15:42

I've tried everything.

Nothing worked.

Only thing that helped me and cleared my dry scalp and itchiness was drinking apple cider vinegar daily.

I can use anything I like on my hair now.

keely79 · 08/07/2016 15:47

How about using very gentle shampoo - perhaps a baby/child one and then pure argan oil in place of conditioner.

hollinhurst84 · 08/07/2016 16:38

I know you said you had tried moo goo but might be worth considering - I didn't like the shampoo but the conditioner was great. I didn't realise until I used them separately

Indecisivejo · 08/07/2016 16:58

Tried the moogoo separately too but my hair was still really bad

I alternate Tgel (the brown one) with a normal shampoo. I try to just use Tgel on a day when I would be wearing my hair up. This keeps on top of itchy scalp but allows me to use a nicer shampoo as well. I find the effects of the Tgel lasts for a few days so I can use a normal shampoo in between without much itch. If it's bad I use the Tgel a couple of times in a row. The brown one is the only one that works for me. It has a coat tar type smell but I actually quite like that and it doesn't linger on your hair once conditioned and dried.

See your GP? I had this. It got to the point where I was only rinsing my hair and using no products on it at all.

I ended up needing a scalp treatment to calm the skin down. I had to stick to very mild shampoos for a long while too. I've also learned to rinse for ages to make sure no shampoo or conditioner is left behind.

I'm still very cautious about which shampoo and conditioner to buy. I found a Philip Kingsley one for itchy scalp the best.

PUGaLUGS · 08/07/2016 17:06

I use Kerastase. I buy it off either Look Fantastic or FeelUnique. Heavily discounted.

NanTheWiser · 08/07/2016 17:56

E45 do a shampoo - about £6, which I started using when my scalp kept flaking and itching. I found it calmed the itchiness very well, and stopped the flaking, although it doesn't lather like 'normal' shampoos, and doesn't have much fragrance.

Ginandthecoconut · 08/07/2016 18:01

I have a sensitive scalp- have you tried Shea Moisture? You can buy it in Boots or online.

Indecisivejo · 10/07/2016 16:48

I like Avalon Organics. Ocado sell it.

hollinhurst84 · 10/07/2016 17:30

I just use one from tk Maxx, it's an Argan oil one without sulphates or I use the conditioner alone (curly hair)
Sometimes use a cleansing conditioner too

jamaisjedors · 10/07/2016 17:35

I am like this. Sometimes think have found one but then get itchy again.
Recently have started rubbing my scalp with a few drops of tea tree oil before shampooing (I wash my hair every 2days) and about once every 2 weeks leaving some coconut oil on scalp and hair for a couple of hours before washing.
This is making things bearable.

bluebump · 10/07/2016 17:36

I'm using some Mark Hill stuff I think it is, it smells lovely and is the first thing in ages that's not made my head itch.

I liked the herbal essence 0% stuff but it seemed to strip my hair dye out quicker than normal.

ktjb39 · 10/07/2016 19:43

I agree with pp about trying Liz Earle - really gentle on the scalp if you go on the website you can buy trial sizes might be worth a go.

nanetterose · 10/07/2016 22:31

I loved the E45 too, very nice considering it is such a dull product!
I love green people - it is the only organic /natural product not to make my dry scalp worse. l've tried the lot, way too many
I'm now using palmers co wash. It is nice, feels quite gentle & isn't annoying my scalp.
