Can we have a house of colour thread just for Autumns here please?

It would be nice to share our finds and get advice.

First up, this coral dress from Nougat London

I have coral or gold shoes, and a gold shrug or light peachy cardi to wear over it. Which would work best, or any other combinations that I should consider?

Blue autumn here. Dark brown hair (reddish undertone), hazel eyes (same as pp, green inner ring, navy/dark outer ring), quite pale.

ididntsignupforthis1 · 08/07/2016 22:48

I'm pretty sure I am autumn
Brown hair easily tan hazel eyes

Wooo hooo, another pale blue pastel autumn here. Have been lead to believe blue autumns were relatively rare.m i know one other in RL,and a blue Spring, too.

My mother is a true autumn leaf, her best colours ate lime green and orange, which are my only no-nos in the whole spectrum.

Hello everyone.

Huldra · 08/07/2016 23:14

I like that chart but don't know where I fit. I have always thought of myself as a warm autumn but colours like coral or mustard look terrible on me.

I have grey, blue, green eyes. Black ring with all those colours in the middle, my husband says he can see brown in there too. Very freckled skin but yellow undertones, not pink, and do build up a kinda golden tan. In winter white with pale blotchy freckles but still not pink. Hair has been a light to mid brown with red and mousey hints. Growing up people have called it all sorts. Like my skin and eyes it is is confused! If I dye it a typical auburn everyone thinks it is my natural colour. I
One of my kids has the same skin as me but dark brown eyes and the same auburn colour that I dye my hair at the moment.

I'm a dark blue autumn, very dark brown hair and very fair skin (although tan fairly easily in summer - it disappears as soon as the sun does though). I look like a winter, everyone assumes I am, but winter colours are dire on me.

I'm also a HoC consultant, so can (theoretically) answer any questions.

I am living in light sage/apple jade/light olive/lizard grey this summer, having hardly worn them ever before, with a bit of oyster/dark olive thrown in, and the occasional bright colour to lift things. I generally dress fairly monochromatically though. I'm such a disappointment to the colour mad consultants Grin.

Mellowautumn · 09/07/2016 09:56

I'm a true/warm/blue not really sure autumn
Mousy hair
Slate blue eyes
Pale but warm skin
Most of my ** were blues/teal but am still after many years struggling - love in navy / rust/ coral
Have recently started wearing coral liostick

poppym12 · 09/07/2016 10:21

I have come to the conclusion that I don't even know what colour my eyes are Blush
They look green, grey, dark blue with a goldy brown ring around the centre. They vary from day to day. If I can't even fathom out my own eye colour, I have no hope of finding out what colours really suit me Confused

I got this in the sale today. Gray and Willow seem to be a house of fraser own brand. Lots of not-very-autumn grey stuff but though this top was pretty good and goes well with lots of autumn colours. I might be wrong though, what do you think?

Gray & Willow cami

Pretty top. I think it looks ok workingclasslegs, it will tone well with mustard and olive shades. I find grey tricky, I used to wear a lot of grey pre colour analysis and miss it.

workingclasslegs · 11/07/2016 18:39

they had some khaki and this top only has a little bit of grey in it. i think the range is very mint velvetish.

ArfurFacksake · 11/07/2016 19:58

Hopefully where are you finding those shades?

I'm struggling with all of those.

TIA

workingclasslegs · 11/07/2016 20:05

liberty, it is my mission to find neutrals and basic colours as I am naturally drawn to all the brighter autumn colours, especially mustard yellows and oranges but am discovering that they don't always work together all at the same time, so i need some pretty tops to tone it down a bit.

still learning!

i also find dressing in the autumn and winter much easier, but then find my clothes too murky in the summer. hence the trying out of coral and light colours.

Me too poppym12 - my eyes are exactly as you have described - lean more green in bright sunlight but the yellow amber rim around the iris confuses the colour.
I'm interested to see pebble grey is a colour as that's the one I feel most comfortable in as I feel it cools my warmth down iyswim. I feel like I look dreadful in oranges/yellows and don't like sludgy colours like moss. It feels like too much of a cliché as a dark strawberry blonde.
What I'd like to know though is are your colours done using your natural or dyed hair colour? I'm really a level 5 brown with warm undertones/glints but dye it lighter to a level 7 strawberry blonde. When I look at the colours, the winter palette appeals more than the autumn one.

workingclasslegs · 11/07/2016 20:25

Gray & Willow top
Is this the elusive lizard grey? one of my ** colours.

Workingclasslegs i think you're right.
Such an insipid colour though imo, not one that attracts me.
My consultant raved about the nudes and neutrals on me - meh!

workingclasslegs · 12/07/2016 22:34

ah but it will make the other colours look more zingy right?

It has taken me ages to come to terms with my muted palette, as a soft, blue pastel autumn. Like others on this thread, I was first drawn to the brighter colours. Spent a summer wearing lime green and orange, the only colours in my swatch that do not rate any stars for me.

Only seeing photos of myself where I looked no different than before, except in one picture where i was wearing 'nothing' colours, did i have to accept that there is something about muted/neutrals for myself. I do like it now, honest but find i use texture to avoid it being tooo boring.

Hope you find what works for you.

MassDebate · 13/07/2016 12:33

Jmangel hair is disregarded when your colours are done - it's more about eyes and skin tone (or at least mine was - they put a scarf over my hair). I think that's why I really struggle with the more muted autumn cours though - as a blonde I find the overall effect a bit too dull and tend toward the spring edge of the spectrum.

newtothenet · 03/08/2016 19:33

Ooh, hello! I didn't know you were here! I'm a newly discovered autumn leaf. I'm liking this dress from Next, which matched up with my wallet. m.next.co.uk/g532s6#753803

I saw some orange and lime green cardigans in the sale in Oasis which I'm kicking myself for not buying (the shop was about 100 miles from home) but didn't want to commit to any purchases because I was on my way home from my consultation and needed to review my wardrobe first.

AristotlesTrousers · 04/08/2016 20:34

Ooh, I was an Autumn when I had my colours done at Colour Me Beautiful several years ago. I was told I was a soft Autumn, but I always preferred bolder shades of the deep Autumn pallet. Have dark hair and hazel eyes, though my skin is quite pale. Just trying to work out which House of Colour Autumn I'd be...

I generally try to stick to Autumn shades, although I do wear black too. Will post pics of any clothes/makeup that I see that others might like. Does anybody else find bright red lipsticks hard to find? I find they're often far too pink, or else too orangey and never dark enough.
