My best mate at Montessori school was Barbara Hulanicki's son Witold - I remember going to his house and thinking it very strange that they had a Victorian rolltop iron bath in the living room and lots of beaded curtains. She gave me a lovely mustard coloured catsuit with lots of buttons down the from and I still have it.

My mum used to take me to the Biba store in Kensington High Street when I was about 7 - it was like a magic kingdom! The amber glass bead curtains were so heavy that they often broke: I used to collect up the loose beads and take them home with me

No, although they might be lurking in the bottom of one of mum's tins of buttons/beads!
