Diy dying lower eye lashes

Does anyone do it?

Most beauty treatments I do at home and I've just realised that I'd look a whole lot better if I dyed my lower lashes (have v dark hair but for some reason my lower outer lashes are fair.

I've just had LVL lashes done (which I love) so no need for mascara atm.

Can I dye my lower lashes at home or should I go to a salon?

Previously I would have said do your own at home.. but then Colorsport changed their home dye formulation and it sucks now so I'm having to pay a professional to do mine.

You can dye them at home, taking sensible precautions. If you have access to a Sally wholesalers, you can buy the professional stuff there.

Did your lvl not include a tint? This should have tinted the lower lashes.
Do get them tinted at the salon though. Tint is very strong and can cause abrasions of the eye so shouldn't be done at home.

They only tinted the top set - which tbh don't really need doing as they're so dark.

When they did them I did ask if they'd tint the bottom ones but they said they only do the top one.

It's the first time I've had it done so I didn't know any different.

I've been doing mine for 20 years....I use Julienne which I get from ebay.

I'm going to try a different salon next time I have the lvl lashes done and double check before that they do the lower lashes too.

I do worry that is get the eye on my eyes but thought of I used a fine paint brush I'd be ok.

Unfortunately, both Colorsport and Eyelure, the two popular brands, have recently changed their formula to a hateful sticky messy two-step process. If you can get your hands on the old formula (where you mix the dye and developer liquid) it's a doddle - just apply very carefully like mascara to clean dry lashes, and if your eyes start to tear, then swoosh it off quickly with cool water and cotton wool. But always do a patch test first.

I did find some on amazon where you need to add a couple of drops of developer. Need to check if it's still available.
One of my eyes is quite watery though.

I use Strictly Professional from Amazon - it's the same stuff they use at the brow/lash bar I go to. You squeeze the tint into a little bowl, then add liquid developer - I bought a kit which had tint, bowl, brush and developer, then an extra brown tint for brows. I think the total cost was £25-ish. Just put plenty of Vaseline round your eyes before you start. (I find the brush quite fiddly, and use an old mascara wand instead.)

I must say that I never bother with the Vaseline. If you get any bit on your lashes, they won't take colour at all.

I order Refectocil in blue black from Amazon - it's easy to use.

Refectocil here too. Easy to use. I put plastic gloves on, and plenty of Vaseline around the eye.
