What do you wear if your legs are too fat for jeans?

Or have I just not found the right pair?
I have put on quite a lot of weight recently due to a number of factors, stress, DH working away, not enough exercise, comfort eating etc. I'm a size 14-16.
I have always carried my weight on my legs but I am finding that I now look like I have stuffed two lumpy sausages into my jeans! Thighs - huge. Knees - chubby. Thighs - massive. Not a good look.
Any advice? Anyone found a flattering style of jeans for chubster legs? Any other style of casual trouser I could try? Work clothes are fine I can get away with smart trousers but I'm really looking for something more casual. Oh and deffo not leggings, I look dreadful in them!
ThanksSmile

I'm the same size as you and I wear straight leg jeans or relaxed sknnies

RebelRogue · 11/06/2016 19:46

Noooo I couldn't get the legs out in a dress like that! Give me safe!!! Hopping I didn't know you could get relaxed skinnies (told you I was clueless!) that could work. I think I just need to haul on loads of different styles.

Buy bigger jeans?

RebelRogue · 11/06/2016 19:53

Bluebell sure you can, dress draws attention to waist and chest if you're happy to show them off, plus the feminine style will soften your legs.just add some height with shoes and you're good to go.

P.s. The most important thing about clothes to make you makes you happy, confident and excited!! Find those clothes ... No matter what style they are or how much leg is on show x

I found these really comfortable and flattering

EagleRay · 11/06/2016 20:08

Bluebell I have very chunky legs (and am 44 and a size 14 usually) and after having a baby I despaired of ever finding jeans to fit. Then I found these...

They are expensive but I got a couple of pairs for about £30 each in the sale and I treasure them (although taking another break from jeans thanks to another baby!)

BluebellTheDonkey · 11/06/2016 20:20

Thanks eagle I will take a look. And congrats on the new baby!

M&s is where I get my relaxed skinnies from, I've got a khaki pair, and a grey pair. They do them in petite too if you are a short arse like me.
I get my straight legs from gap

BluebellTheDonkey · 11/06/2016 21:40

Thanks hopping

I'm a size 16 and I really love sainsburys dark skinny jeans - £14 a pair. I love them so much I recently bought 3 pairs in their sale! I never find jeans I like so it's a big deal for me to find some that fit and are comfortable.

tigerdriverII · 11/06/2016 22:46

Sainsburys girlfriend jeans are flattering. I'm rather bigger than 14-16 and have a white pair. They're great, fit well and to the extent anything can be flattering on my porky frame, these are.

Tate15 · 11/06/2016 23:05

I have short legs. I've started wearing straight legged jeans rather than skinny jeans and find they do make my legs appear longer.

I hate low cut means I don't think they do anything for anyone. I like old fashioned on the waist jeans like the picture.

I don't think bootcut jeans are flattering if you think you have big legs, I always think they make bigger legs look bigger.

Have you tried on men's jeans and worn with a belt? The legs are more generously sized. It's worth spending a day trying on every style and colour to see what suits you best. Don't go for what is the latest fashion go or what suits your shape.

rebel I LOVE those first pair of jeans in that trio of photos you posted, do you know where a large legged lady (me) could possible purchase them???
