The model definitely looks a size 16 to me, but yes, a deeply unflattering matronly dress!

Vriksasana · 06/06/2016 19:27

seen worse

IrritableBitchSyndrome · 06/06/2016 19:30

Looks more like a size 16 dress on a size 12-14 model... weirdly baggy and horribly unflattering!

Armi · 06/06/2016 21:04

Typical of Phase Eight's patronising Studio 8 range which is a load of over-priced, unflattering crap designed by thin people who have decided that they know what fat people should be wearing. It's all dreadful.

SesameSparkle · 06/06/2016 22:01

I think the dress looks about 2 sizes too big for the model. If the dress is a 16, then the model is probably a 12 in real life - which I think is the standard for a plus size model. It might even look ok on someone who has the curves to fill it. It's just sad that phase eight doesn't want to take the risk to show off the dress on the person it was designed for. I used to wear a similar shape of dress when I was big and really liked the style. I probably wouldn't have chosen the sleeveless/high neck/frill combo though.....

FurryLittleTwerp · 06/06/2016 22:04

Horrible! I like Phase 8 dresses usually Hmm

StickTheDMWhereTheSunDontShine · 06/06/2016 22:08

I was about to jump in and say something about some of us not having a waist, but that dress is dreadful. All the white piping makes her look like a sofa.

StickTheDMWhereTheSunDontShine · 06/06/2016 22:11

It's vastly improved by the jacket. Who owuld want to wear a dress with a jacket you can't remove, though?

ChaostheCat · 06/06/2016 22:15

Not Phase Eight but I, or rather M&S give you this

Tattieboggle · 06/06/2016 22:15

Its from the Studio 8 collection that goes up to about a size 26 and as a size 22/24 I can confidently say that nothing made in that size range is ever going to be figure flattering or look that great.

HangingRockPicnic · 06/06/2016 22:49

I think a lot of their dresses on the same model look good. I think it's just the embellishment on the tummy area and the placing of the waist detail that is unflattering on that one.

Chaos that is not a good look, what would that dress be like to sit down in on a hot day shudder though I do believe the phase 8 one is equally bad.

Any other contenders?

OP posts:
Ulrich · 06/06/2016 23:18

Chaos, that has to be one of the most revolting items of clothing I've ever seen..... Shock

Queenbean · 06/06/2016 23:21

That dress from Chaos isn't that bad. I've seen much worse!

Ulrich · 06/06/2016 23:25

Leather tunic Hmm.....

Queenbean · 06/06/2016 23:29

You can always rely on Per Una for some kind of vomit inducing, flamenco dancing, too short monstrosity:

Queen whilst that is a hideous dress I think the phase 8 one wins in the least flattering category, followed by the leather tunic !

Any other contenders?

OP posts:
RoganJosh · 07/06/2016 22:32

I don't mind the red dress.
The leather tunic, however, I thought was the worst item of clothing I had ever seen. Until I saw the jumpsuit. Imagining me, when pregnant, in it made me feel a bit sick.

StickTheDMWhereTheSunDontShine · 07/06/2016 22:34

Oh dear, danny. Lumpy :(

Not sure what else it would be for £25, though. Is that what Blooming Marvellous have come to, these days?

OhTheRoses · 07/06/2016 22:40

Is blooming marvellous still going?

Not sure if that dress is hideous or if it has focussed my mind on losing 2 stone.

notfornothing · 07/06/2016 22:46

Basically if it looks crap on a model, there's no chance

Doublejeopardy · 07/06/2016 22:53

Ok the jumpsuit is another level of unflatteringness (sp) yuck.

KoalaDownUnder · 07/06/2016 23:03

That M&S leather sack for 200 quid. Shock

Who the actual fuck is 'designing' (and I use the word loosely) this vileness?
