cardi or jacket for over this dress?

Any ideas please? It's quite an informal event but will last most of the day and evening so an extra layer will be needed.

I thought cardi too. Any idea on colours?

What's the event and what will you wear on your feet?

Dusty pink or amber yellow might be nice.

Cardi, as the dress has a quite unstructured look, if you are dark haired I'd say a lime green cardi, or for a blonde perhaps bronze/pink.

I wouldn't wear a cardigan with buttons with that dress. The dress had long lines and a flowing look and a button down cardigan is the complete opposite to that. I would get a chunky cream knit shawl or a cream or champagne coloured pashmina. If you want a jacket a long white blazer with 3/4 sleeves but it would have to be long and relaxed fit.

I would suggest a jacket - a cropped jacket.

I hate to say it, but I think a waterfall cardi would look right with that. Anything else would be too structured.

I'm with Remus - biker jacket. Definitely needs to be no longer than waist length. Flowy cardigan will swamp.

Biker could work but depends on the kind of event. Def not something long.

Biker jacket is a brilliant idea. Or if you wanted to look smarter/more conservative, a very cropped bolero cardigan. But a biker jacket would go better with that dress.

I think a shawl or a wrap might bring it into fortune teller territory. A biker or cropped jacket would be much better, I think.

I think a shawl/wrap would make it look too Laura Ashley hippy dippy, and would reduce the impact of the shape of the frock.

the dress is originally from the trend section of h & m. Think a lightish biker jacket may work without looking too fussy with the flappy lapels? The theme of the 'do' is glastonbury/festival so thinking about it, the more causal look would be fine.

Shoe problem though - recommendations for flats please?

If the theme is Glastonbury the footwear has to be wellies!

Gladiator sandals or short cowgirl boots.

A skinny denim jacket would look nice IMO

My usual footwear is converse, birkenstocks or boots so I think wellies would make a nice change
