A couple of years ago I had semi-permanent eyelash extensions that I maintained with appointments for 6 months. I absolutely loved them! The girl who did them was very experienced and it was a reputable salon, however I developed blepharitis after 6 months. I had a break of about 6 weeks, allowing all of the lashes to regenerate then had them re-done just before a holiday. My eyes then swelled up immediately and particularly along the lash line, very painful and red. Luckily she had given me some remover to take, just in case, and I ended up taking them off on the first night of my holiday because the swelling hadn't gone down at all.
That was 2 years ago and I haven't had eyelash extensions since, just using strip lashes when I want to and occasionally applying individual lashes with the Eylure glue they provide (the stronger one, not the latex-y one). I have had no reactions.
I really want to have extensions again just for my holiday this year. So, if I get them applied "express" as advertised by salons, will this be less likely to cause a reaction? Is it the same glue as the longer lasting ones?
