Do these dresses look ok to wear as a wedding guest?

I've narrowed the choice down to two dresses that I like. I will probably order both, try on at home and send one back. Do you think these would be suitable for a fairly posh wedding in June?

My honest opinion, I don't like the first one, too dressing-gowny for me, perfect for parties etc you may be able to swing it though with right accessories etc but not posh wedding in my opinion, 2nd one is nice but too body con.

The one martin linked to is perfect though! Grin

I've tried on both dresses. Unfortunately I don't like the purple one as much as I did. The colour is more of a dark plum than a bright purple. Also, the orange flowers are much brighter in real life. The other thing is that the pockets stick out around the hip area adding unnecessary bulk. I am going to return it.

The blue one fits well and I like the colours so I will keep it. I don't think that I will wear it to the wedding though.

I've never heard that body con wasn't acceptable for a wedding Shock, I mean I can understand if the dress was really short and your boobs were falling out, that wouldn't be appropriate. Dress 2 is just like a sheath dress though, it's modest.

Is this no body con a "thing" in rl or a MN thing?

Yay, the purple one's awful, I'm glad you kept the blue one, it's nice.
