Can you recommend an anti-frizz product please.

I have just finished some that SIL gave me (a freebie at her work) but it is no longer available. It was waxy rather than liquidy, you rubbed it in the palm of your hands to soften it, then rubbed it through your hair. Non-sticky, non-greasy, just great at smoothing.
So what can anyone recommend please.

i use the avon one, smoothing balm, its not greasy like some of the frizz ease stuff. I use it whether i'm straigtening my hair or not and think its only a couple of quid, i normally buy a couple when its on offer.

Whizzz · 15/01/2007 21:25

John Frieda shampoo + conditioner is the best I have found - all the Frizz Ease stuff is brill

MummyPenguin · 15/01/2007 21:58

Agree Whizz, although my hair still goes frizzy, but I think I have a bad dryer and am about to purchase a new one. Then I think, what would my barnet look like without the Frizz Ease? I recently tried a Trevor Sorbie frizz reducing smoothing cream, and it was horrible really sticky. I had to wash my hair again

I like the L'oreal professional liss extreme products, get them on lookfantastic.com, they are cost effective cos you only need a small amount and i have got long thick hair. With that and my GHD's hair is smooth and shiny - nice

Whizzz · 15/01/2007 22:05

yes I m now a GHD convert.....no frizz at all !

pointydog · 15/01/2007 23:05

I like the frizz ease stuff too. I use the cream after drying. non sticky

hotandbothered · 15/01/2007 23:20

GHD?!

If you've got a birthday coming up (or know someone going to the USA soon), Sebastien Laminates Drops is a fantastic serum and lasts for ages. About £18 in the UK though .

MummyPenguin · 16/01/2007 11:56

I use a really good serum that I smooth on my hair when it's dry, to reduce frizz. It's made by Silvikrin, comes in a squeezy tube, mostly white with green and dark blue on it. It's £1.88 in Wilkinson. It really is good.

MummyPenguin · 16/01/2007 11:59

Sorry, it's not Silvikrin, it's Schwarzkopf Supersoft.

john stafford do a good range of products combine them with ghds and away you go

Posey · 16/01/2007 13:57

Thanks for all those suggestions. My last tube of stuff lasted about 3 years so I don't mind spending a bit if it is good. I don't spend much on any looking good stuff so might treat myself

I'm a bit thick but can anyone enlighten me... what does GHD mean? Thank you...

HEIFER · 16/01/2007 15:38

This is the best Anti frizz product I have ever seen..

it works wonders

MummyPenguin · 16/01/2007 17:03

It's Good Hair Day. It's a brand of hair straightners and hair products.

MummyPenguin · 16/01/2007 17:03

LOL heifer! D'ya know, at times I have been sorely tempted!!

Troutpout · 16/01/2007 17:13

Another vote for frizz ease here

hotandbothered · 16/01/2007 20:03

Thanks Mummypenguin! I use frizz ease without much success...think I probably am doing it wrong...

Posey · 16/01/2007 20:17

Thanks again!
Took me ages to realise GHD was a brand of straightener, I thought it was a type, like having ceramic plates or something.
Anyway have just been swimming and now my hair is a complete disastrous frizz
Will go and get something recommended tomorrow after work, and in the meantime find a bobble.

Yes, the GHD's do have ceramic plates. They're £100 and are favoured by celebrities. I have them, but haven't used them in a few months, as my hair was getting split and was suffering from the use of them really. Perhaps I wasn't using a good enough protective spray. Which brings me to another point. Can anyone recommend one of those? I have used GHD hair oil which I think is quite good, but anyone else know of a good heat defence spray for use with straightening irons?
