Get measured by a proper bra department. Then you will know what bras to buy as they will suggest makes and styles to you. Don't guess. You do not know what the fit of the bra will be like. Most department stores offer bra fitting services.

I just mean if you measure in between a size do you go up or down?

The advice I've read on here for inbetween measurements says go down if you have a bit of squish in that area, and up if you don't. But best to try out both.

Who knows until you try the bra on! They have adjustable backs so possibly down. However, can you rely on the measurements given in the description? Do you know they are accurate? You might need a bigger size in one make than in an alternative one. That is why a bra fitting session is best, then you will know what suits you.

Yes it is accurate. I have tried on many Bras and know which styles are best. It's just because I've lost a bit of weight I'm down a size.

You need to try on but as a general guide for someone with your measurements I would start with the 40 and work from there. It's not unusual for ladies who are a bit squishy of torso to even need to go further down the bands as a larger band can stretch more in absolute terms

My DD goes to Selfridges in London and they are brilliant! (She is a 30 F so not a usual size). I was very impressed with them and the staff have collected bras for her to try. Rigby and Peller are expensive but they do help you. She went to them before she lost weight. I think you all must have gone to the wrong stores!

So two stores which don't exist in most of the UK...the big department store chains like debenhams, house of fraser, marks and Spencer etc all use an old fashioned method where they add inches. For Many Women there is no local reliable place
