im in my mid twenties and my skin seems worse now then when i was a teenager. If i have a spot they seem to last for ages the whole healing process has slowed down. Not to mention ive got open pores around my noes, forehead and chin. Ive tried some products on the market nut some just seem to make it worse. Any suggestions?

Do you live in a city? I'm sure the pollution doesn't help. bumping as I'd be interested to hear what others have to say.

mine have got better with using clearasil pore cleanser - feels like grit on your face, but it is working!

JackieNo · 15/01/2007 12:23

I like the Liz Earle range - you get a bit of gentle exfoliation every time you cleanse with the Cleanse And Polish and its muslin cloth. And it's gentle, too.

I use Boots Tea Tree & Witchhazel facewash & swear by it, coupled with a good scrub with an antibacterial exfoliating face scrub two or three times a week.

I'm 32 and have worse skin than my teenaged sister if I don't wash my face twice a day with the teatree stuff.

Hmm - have been using the Liz Earle hot polish stuff since Christmas and although my skin feels smoother the pores aren't any more closed or less clogged.

10% Benzoyl Peroxide is the stuff for blasting the odd big spot (over counter in pharmacies, about £3) but it bleaches coloured fabrics so don't use it with blue pillowcases.

JackieNo · 15/01/2007 12:32

(are you speaking from experience on the blue pillowcases, MrsB?)

JackieNo · 15/01/2007 12:32

(although I can't imagine you to have spots - must have been in your badger cub days)

MrsBadger · 15/01/2007 12:33

yes, and grey ones, and clothes (I get the odd shoulder spot), and blue towels

Dh and I have both used it on and off since we were teenager so are wise to it now though...

southeastastra · 15/01/2007 12:33

i get bad spots that last if i use heavy/expensive moisturisers, what do you use now?

MrsBadger · 15/01/2007 12:35

oh, and I'll add that I only moisturise my cheeks, and then only with extra light Johnsons' Clean & Clear spot-fighting moisturiser.

Anything else is just grease overload.

hoolagirl · 15/01/2007 14:01

I have crap skin, I use johnsons clean and clear exfoliating daily wash. Its about £2.50. I definetly notice a big gunk increase if I stop using it.
