How to make a round face look slimmer?

I am 5'3, and 8st, size 6-8 on top and 8-10 on bottom. So hardly huge, my face however when I smile seems to put about 10lbs on me, especially in photos!

I have really high cheek bones and people say I have good bone structure, but my face is very oval shaped and when I smile, just goes completely round like a football with big chubby cheeks.

My friend took a photo of me yesterday and I nearly died when I saw it on FB! I looked so fat in my face :cries:

Is there actually any way, through make up or otherwise, to help slim down your face? (Other than loosing a shed load of weight, which I don't really need to do)

I have a very round large face so I feel your pain, it just looks massive and round no matter how slim I am. And I have small features and high temples so it does look very man in the moonesque. I look like the sun for the teletubbies.
I do a basic light contour, with either bronzer or contour powder in a 3 shape, under my cheek bones and under my chin and round the sides of my face and then blend with your foundation brush so it sort of fades. I would watch youtube videos if you dont know how.
I also stick my chin out and up a bit and tilt my head a little to the side in photos so the roundness isn't so full on haha. And a good haircut always helps.
And always a big smile, that way you look happy and everyone focuses on how smiley/happy you look and how much fun you have been having

Obviously, body weight is not an issue so disregard that:

That link looks offensive... Sad

It does have good ideas though as hair can make a difference... If you scroll and click on boho waves, you see all the styles one after the other (instead of clicking on every style) Smile

I would also say contouring. If done correctly it will look natural/not orange.

I am the same, very round face, and I would say I look about 10 pounds lighter if I have done my make up correctly. Shame I can't do it on my whole body.

Does anyone know any good links to show how to contour ? I've looked on YouTube but the bloggers on there don't have the Round face thing or the ones who do don't have one as big as me

No advice, except maybe contouring, but I have a round face too. When I smile, I've been told (by a really naughty old guy) that I look like a dragonfly.

Don't worry. I used to hate my round face, but now that I'm in my late 30s I appreciate it. I recently went back to uni, taking classes with 20-somethings and guess what, they assume I just finished undergrad!

I have a very very round face too, with really chubby cheeks, i have no cheekbone definition or jawline definition - i am the most unphotogenic person on the planet.

I do have the NYX bronzer/blusher in Taupe, which is a great colour, not orangey or glittery & I use that in an attempt to contour, I'm not sure if I do it correctly as from any pics, I still resemble a football!

I find it useless trying to search for hairstyles to suit a round face as what pops up are pictures including Kate Winslet, Kirsten Dunst & Cameron Diaz - well if their face is round, mine must be a on a whole new level of round!

I avoid blunt fringes as I think they can 'widen' the face & jaw length bobs. I try to keep my hair longer, shoulder length or past if I can grow it! I use to have layers in, slightly shorter ones near the crown, to give more height & have my hair thinned out a bit at the sides (as it use to be super thick) but then I was put on some meds & my hair went thin.

There is one thing, from what people have always said I don't look my age, they've always assumed I'm younger, so that's got to be a good thing right? 😉
