hollyisalovelyname · 15/05/2016 14:46

Help please.
I have very,very sensitive eyes.
I am allergic to so many removers.
I've just bought L'oreal gentle eye make up remover. Stung like mad Sad
Simple stings too.
Loved Garnier but they changed the formula.
I am even allergic to La Roche Posay.
I found Avene doesn't sting but it is a gel and I hate the texture.
Amy suggestions please.

Kiehls Supremely Gentle Eye Makeup Remover does what it says on the tin, it's creamy, does a really good job as well. I've repurchased it 3 or 4 times now and love it.

whirlygirly · 15/05/2016 22:32

Clinique take the day off (the purple one) is the only one I can use.

Ginandthecoconut · 16/05/2016 00:35

I second Cakes recommendation The Balm eye make up remover- it's brilliant stuff. I have super sensitive eyes and it's the only product ( I've tried so many !)that actually works without stinging/film over the eye. It last ages too.

NatalieRushman · 16/05/2016 01:18

Lancôme bi facial works great for me. I've used various other products (mostly clinique) and even back when I used them I'd always follow up with the bi facial and find that there was still a lot of eye makeup to take off. I feel like there's something about the liquid that just feels so much better than the creams and balms and oils I've used. With regards sensitivity, even my Dsis whose skin reacts to anything can use it with no reaction.

Another recommendation for Body Shop Camomile Eye Make Up Remover. Best I have ever used, so good I stockpile . Efficient but super gentle, try a travel sized bottle for not many £££s.

Millionprammiles · 16/05/2016 09:02

Another rec for the Body Shop camomile remover. Have used it for years. Its the only one that doesn't sting or dry out my skin or irritate my contact lenses. Simple, Clinique and various others stung or left my eyes clogged up (or both).

The texture of the BShop one is like a water/oil mixture. So its soothing but doesn't clog like a cream can.

Soupe · 18/05/2016 20:45

I find a lot of products irritating but have always got on well with M & S Formula daily care sensitive skin eye makeup remover, around £3.50.

BeaLola · 18/05/2016 21:02

It's a micellar water BUT the only one I can get on with and that's Bioderma

monkeywithacowface · 18/05/2016 21:10

I have very sensitive eyes oddly the only thing I can use is Waitrose essentials eye makeup pad removers.

cakegoblin · 18/05/2016 21:27

Lancôme Bi-facial for me too, for 19 years and when I've been forced to try other things I have regretted it! The only product I have stuck religiously to for so long. One large bottle lasts for 6 - 10 months or so as I decant into a smaller one (saved from a Lancôme offer) and then use cotton buds on sticks to remove my eye makeup so I use tiny amounts and am very gentle. absolutely love it.

mini290h · 18/05/2016 21:43

Definitely Lancôme Bi Facil. I have used it for years as it is the only eye makeup remover that does not make my eyes sore and totally removes waterproof mascara. It really is worth the money.

user1463596134 · 18/05/2016 22:04

Coconut oil removed with a cotton pad and warm water

MathsFiend · 18/05/2016 22:05

Which la Roche posay have you tried?

My eyes are really dry to the extent I never shed tears if I cry. The only products which don't nip my eyes are la Roche posay Micellar gel stuff in the Rosaliac range, and the Clinique take the day away balm. Everything else leaves me with red and sore eyes.

Although olive oil is also a good alternative.

cheapandcheerful · 18/05/2016 22:11

I also react to many of the simple products but this one is fine for some reason.

WeeM · 18/05/2016 22:40

I use the Body Shop Camomile cleansing butter for removing all my make up and it is fab for eye make up-just melts it away without having to rub at it.

Floisme · 19/05/2016 06:56

Almond oil works for me and makes a good moisturiser too.

MantaRayBay · 19/05/2016 07:05

I second olive oil. Smells great and only one ingredient! Works really well too.

Teddybe4r · 19/05/2016 10:34

Well I have SUPER-Sensitive skin, but I do use quite a lot of eye make up and mascara. My eyes can get very irritated, looking red-rimmed at times, especially when I have a bout of Hay Fever. I would STRONGLY recommend two eye make up removers.....Floracil by Gatineau (I buy it off QVC when on offer), or No.7 eye make up remover (Boots own brand from the U.K.). Hope this helps.

notagiraffe · 19/05/2016 10:38

If you like Garner, have you tried the Garner Soft range (pink bottle)? I use that and have very sensitive eyes. Does Body Shop still do a camomile make up remover? That used to be good too.

andadietcoke · 19/05/2016 10:41

I've stopped using eye makeup remover and just double cleanse with hot cloths. I adore the Emma Hardie balm cleanser but it is expensive. Could be worth a try if you can get a sample?

cherrybath · 19/05/2016 10:47

Large bottle (200ml) of the Lancome product available at the moment £22.50 in various places - best seems to be Debenhams as they have free home delivery using the code SHA5 (just bought one myself so I know the code works).

Ferrerotoffeemint · 19/05/2016 13:41

Nivea double effects eye make up remover doesn't sting.

hollyisalovelyname · 19/05/2016 17:15

Thank you.
I have bought the Botanics and the Body Shop one. No stinging but the eye lids are swelling a little.

Boots Fragrance Free is the only one I can use, have eczema as well as severe allergies.
Amazingly it's only £1.50 & currently on 3 for2, they almost pay you to take it away!
This one

Unless you wear waterproof, the absolute gentlest is Kiehl's Supremely Gentle Eye Make up Remover. It doesn't say on the bottle, but dab a little (like a milky lotion with no perfume) fingernail amount onto lashes and remove with cotton wool rounds which are moistened with warm water. I then pat eyes dry. It goes a long way so the £17.50 price tag is worth it. I use it on my hypersensitive face too (in the same way, though I wet my face first). If you buy from Kiehl's and have any issues, they give you your money back (with receipt).

Do you have issues with mascara? If so, can I ask what you use without issues? Thanks so much Smile
