For the love of all that is good and great why, why, why when you type in 'wider fitting shoes' into google do you get a collection of the most HIDEOUS grannytastic monstrosities you'd ever care not to be seen dead in . I've looked in shoetailor, evans, simplybe, next, marksandspencers and duo. Duo had some nice ones but I'm looking for silvery ones and they didn't have any. Please can anyone point me in the right direction? Thank you in desperation...

dms aren't that great past 30 i feel. i mean, not for weddings and such like.

brimfull · 14/01/2007 16:12

silvery high heels I take it?

danceswithnewboots · 14/01/2007 16:14

HA! I lived in DMs aged 17 to 22yrs until they finally gave up. Still love my boots though. I'm trying to be all grown up and get a pair of heels for a wedding. I'm like frickin Julia Roberts (with a few glaring diffences...like about 4 stone) when she is trying to spend money but no-one will let her...grrrr.

anything here grab you,not much silver

danceswithnewboots · 14/01/2007 16:14

yes ggirl, like fillyjonk says, think dms might be frowned on at a wedding

the one the model is wearing... is the colour of my dress. Anything that will go with it will do!

not strictly wide but would allow for overspill

SisterOfSoapbox · 14/01/2007 16:37

How about here

brimfull · 14/01/2007 16:44

sorry these

danceswithnewboots · 14/01/2007 17:53

Thanks (had to disappear....pesky children ) so can someone tell me...January wedding, potentially chilly church, wearing sandals...can you wear tights?! Or is there something I can wear to keep my legs warms...my dress is quite long. Sorry if these are horrible fashion faux pas! I need to know!

M&S do tan-coloured sheer tights for open-toed sandals - they're open toed but there's kind of a thread that goes between your big toe and the next one. Feels strange at first, like flipflops, but pretty much invisible and give you the confidence of a tan and prettily painted toenails. At least they did them about 5 yrs ago, you might need to ask.

I have wide feet too but buy cheap shoes so they eventually lose their shape and take on that of my feet. High instep is a bigger problem for me, can't get into the cowboy boots I bought off Ebay. Anyone wanna buy them for £10 inc p&p? Size 8.

KezzaG · 14/01/2007 19:24

what about Evans? They have some patent grey slingbacks, not exactly shiny silver but in that whole colour scheme thing. They are not peep toe so you could wear tights with them

brimfull · 14/01/2007 19:46

Why not some black kitten heel boots, you'd get more wear out of them after the wedding and I think they'd look great with a dress.
Will try and find some,am sure m&s do some.

brimfull · 14/01/2007 19:49

not kitten heel but nice
and you could go up a half size for extra width.

danceswithnewboots · 14/01/2007 19:57

It's a sort of soft floaty (hankerchief type hem) dress so I don't think I can get away with boots (much as I'd love too!)
I'm going to investigate the tights option - very cunning, I'd no idea such a thing existed!

Ooh boots with floaty dress - very Stevie Nicks, could get away with it if you have long wild hair. Kind of wild witchy theme.

brimfull · 14/01/2007 20:25

yeh,go for it!

danceswithnewboots · 14/01/2007 21:39
