Curling tongs or wand?

Currently I have a long bob which is a bit wavy/curly/frizzy when left to dry naturally. If I have time, I wind it in sections & pin it to my head so it dries wavy. Or I dry & straighten it.

But.... if I want to do the waves better (& without the frizz), which is better: a curling tong or wand? And what size barrel? Or make?

I really have no idea. It's taken until this year to realise that you have to curl away from your face if you don't want Shirley Temple ringlets Confused

Any wavy hair advice welcomed!

I have wavy hair, just above bra strap length. If I leave it to dry, it dries wavy with a little curl on the bottom, which I quite like. If I want uniform waves then I use a cheap curling wand I got in Tesco. I've never had much luck with tongs
