I'm about to buy a new one. I have a Remington which works fine, but my hair is often dry and frizzy. My Sister used my dryer recently, and she said that it gets very hot, but isn't very powerful. Anyone got one they'd recommend?

I htink the key is tog et oen that isnt too heavy and that has a high wattage or whatever they call it

100PerCentCod · 12/01/2007 19:02

this is inoic!!

100PerCentCod · 12/01/2007 19:03

it's frizzy as you arent drying it till tis dry and prob need to put some serum on it at the end
OR (my fave tip) put some handcream on your hands and when its almopst all gone rub it over your hair

MummyPenguin · 12/01/2007 19:04

That's funny, Cod, I was looking at that one in the Argos catalogue earlier. It looks good doesn't it? I may go for that one.

I don't know if there is any basis in science at all for the new 'ionic' ones - but I have one, blast my hair with it at close range every day and my hair's pretty shiny and healthy looking (please no science bods tell me it's a load of rubbish - it might not work if I stop believing the wild claims of shiny 'ionised' hair).

Mine was dead cheap too - an Aldi special.

ionic conditioning is somehting to do wiht reducing frizz too( i jsut googled it)

LOL! I opened this thread, thinking it must be true, Cod has left, must start a thread about it and here you are in all your glory!

Good to have you back.

FWIW on the hairdryer front. My hairdresser was promoting a Tigi hairdryer but don't know how much it was but it is supposidly the bees knees.

MummyPenguin · 13/01/2007 18:58

I guess you can only buy them in salons or hairdressers suppliers?

I have a T&G one that is fantastic, better than any hairdryer I have ever owned. You can buy them in the salon, they dry my hair in half the time of my old one and seem to get rid of the frizz

CountessDracula · 13/01/2007 19:01

look!

expatinscotland · 13/01/2007 19:01

i have a babyliss ion shine that's been going strong for nearly 5 years and it's fab.

swifterella · 13/01/2007 19:05

will watch this with interest as was about to write exactly the same post! My hairdryer is shite and my friend has a v expensive fab ome and used it the other day and my hair looked fab, defo makes a difference

swifterella · 13/01/2007 19:13

just found one on line for £160????!!! it is by T3 and the reviews say it is the best ever and they have paid £1000 for it. Surely not worth it/

Sounds very tempting, CountessDracula. So I would get it from a Tony and Guy Salon? Is it any particular one or do they only have one?

OP posts:
CountessDracula · 13/01/2007 19:19

I think it is the only one they do

MummyPenguin · 13/01/2007 19:42

You may have sold me!! It does sound good. DH bought me a MP3 player for Christmas which he seems to have adopted for himself, so I think I can justify a posh dryer!

OP posts:
100PerCentCod · 13/01/2007 20:14

have you bought?

MummyPenguin · 14/01/2007 20:20

Not yet. Will do soon though.
