I have washed my super-fine/oily hair with an organic, lemon shampoo, used an organic, anti-static conditioner. Gently blow-dried it just to the point where it's still damp.

Waited indoors, in a mild temp until it was completely dry.

Used an organic, anti-static finishing cream, brushed through once with an anti-static brush, which I had sprayed with a light hold hairspray.

I am sitting here, with super-static hair.

Where am going wrong?????

Oh dear. I have a few things you can try;
Conditioner with silicone in it as the silicone neutralises the static,
an ionic hairdryer,
a metal comb,
avoid hairspray as it can dry your hair, causing static, and try a serum instead?

I occasionally get static, it's v. annoying but I think having fine hair means it's prone to static, esp when just washed and sometimes the weather affects it.
There's nothing more irritating than brushing your hair and finding it clings to your face!

If you have any tumble drier sheets, I often just give finished hair a quick swipe over with that, completely banishes the static.

I had terrible problems with static hair. It turned out that loreal had changed the formula of my hair colour. I switched salons and switched to a wella colour and the static is gone. Is your hair coloured?

Could it be what you're wearing? I've found clothing made from synthetic fibres causes my fine hair to do this

Critique the label of all your clothes from pants up
Anything nylon, polyester etc remove even those with minuscule amounts
Check your scarves and shoes too.

Thanks so much for all the replies. I know my clothes make it worse but I'd have to remove most of my wardrobe!

Does anybody else know a good shampoo for oily, fine hair that neutralises static? I think my lemon one is stripping it.

I like Timotei Pure shampoo for normal/greasy hair.
