A camera which takes quality photos!

Hi everyone

Not sure this is the right thread, however I would like to buy a good camera for family photos, holidays, special occasions. Would appreciate any recommendations.

You might want to head over to the Geeky Stuff forum. Not an expert, but sometimes use DH's DSLR. I believe these will be the best for quality but they will be bigger and heavier than compact cameras. You can use different lenses for different things (DH has one that is good for taking portraits).

Hello - a bridge camera/mirrorless camera would be a good alternative to an DSLR if you don't want something too bulky. They are more streamlined and smaller but do pretty much everything a DSLR does.

I have had a Fuji XE-2 for a couple of years and love it. I recommend it to everyone. You can get different lenses (zoom lenses, prime lenses) but I use the 35mm most of the time and it is fantastic.

I took a weekend course to help me get the most out of it but even using automatic settings it still takes gorgeous, professional-looking photos.

It also has a pleasingly retro look, if you're into that sort of thing, like an old school film camera.
