Non-crispy pixie hair products?

I have recently (well, in the past six months) had my hair cut into what I believe the young people call a 'pixie'.

It needs some kind of product to ensure it looks faintly 'with it' rather than 'trucker'. I've been using my partner's shaping cream, but it leaves my hair a bit crispy. There is a bewildering array out there - gum, wax, putty, gel, fibre, etc etc. What do MN's many pixie-sporters use to keep it groovy yet not greasy, flaky or indeed crispy?

My hair is fine and slightly wavy, if that helps, and quite short (maybe 2 inches at the longest). A 'pixie' can actually be quite variable in length so if yours is e.g. long on top, these products may not work for you. I've had my hair short for years and years and have used pretty much EVERY product out there. The two best ones I've found are Lush's Dirty and Bumble and Bumble Sumowax.

Dirty is quite matte and gives a good strong, sculptable hold - I'm not a huge Lush fan but this is an amazing product and I would not be without it. It gives that look that's 'mussed but done'. It isn't crispy but equally it will not leave your hair feeling silky and soft (no product with any hold will do this, though). Last time I looked for this in a Lush store they told me they no longer carried it (don't know if it was just that store?) but you can get it online.

Sumowax is not as strong and is good if you want a bit of wave or movement - and it has a nicer smell. You can run your hands through this but it's better to give a bit of definition if your hair is already falling into the shape you want it to, if that makes sense - Dirty can be used to 'shape' your hair more.

Ooh, sounds like sumo wax could be what I'm after. My hair's pretty short - Judi Dench type length - so stays in place, just needs roughing up. If I don't put any product on it, it just sits there being neat and matronly.

little oh sorry yes it seems it might have.

I got mine from the bargain shelf at superdrug ages ago, so should have realised it might not be available any more.
