facial hair - what do you do?

(not sure style is the right place but can't think of anything better)
What is the best thing to use to get rid of goddamn stubborn hairs on chin? Have always had these, though they seem to be getting a bit more tenacious/plentiful in recent years. Am VERY tired of plucking (my eyesight just ain't up to it anymore, I keep finding stray ones I've missed ). Recently tried hot wax and fabric strips on my legs and although it was awfully messy the regrowth seems much lighter, would the same happen on my chinny chin chin? I looked in Boots today and they have lots of different facial waxes, including some that you don't use paper or cloth strips with. Anyone know if these are any good?

I've had electrolysis on my face and nearly all the hair is gone. Hooray!

I had to go every month for 2 years,so it can take ages but its worth it. Likewise with the pain ,yes it hurts but its worth it for a permanent solution. tbh I found waxing far more painful

I went somewhere quite posh for mine and it was £20 for 15 mins ,but my cousin went to her local beauty college and was a model which i think was only about £3

I found electrolysis hopeless. It was painful, it brought me out in blisters, and I went for ages but still the hair kept on coming back.

I would like to try something like IPL or laser treatment but there's no way we could afford that.

I had IPL on my top lip and even though I wasn't able to finish the course (we moved back to the UK and it is a FORTUNE here) my regrowth seems finer and also comes out with waxing much more easily and therefore less painfully. I would recommend a professional wax for a chin I think....
It is a pain isn't it. My eyebrows can be a liability.

agree with WigWamBam, i paid a fortune for electrolysis and the only difference i can see is that i now have bumps on my skin where the needle went in. and it hurt to buggery.

Bekks · 10/01/2007 19:19

I've had IPL, it's worked a bit but not as well as I'd hoped - there are still hairs there after six treatments, which is what they seem to say is needed.

Does anyone discuss this with their OH? I've always been quite embarrassed about it.

Skyler · 10/01/2007 19:36

I am ashamed to say that I have no secrets from my DH. I try to hide my waxing a bit but he notices the huge red marks lol. I often tell him off for not telling me when my top lip hair or eyebrows are out of control but he is always surprised and genuinely doesn't seem to notice .

funkimummy · 10/01/2007 20:01

DH is used to finding my in an array of contortionist positions as I wax myself!!

He takes no notice now!
