I need to dry out my spot!

Hi, what's the best thing to use to dry out pimples/spots?

I seem to getting a few and sudo cream doesn't do anything. I need something that will dry them out, so that I don't end up picking on it and scarring!

Magnesium sulphate paste from chemist. Weird, old fashioned but scarily effective!

If you need it immediately - toothpaste!

My mum always said toothpaste. My grandad has always said that perfume or aftershave would, too - although never tried that one.

I have a little witch hazel stick which works a treat.

Lavender oil.

Perfume. Alcohol.

Blister plaster overnight!

Second blister plaster! Not that I've tried ones marketed at blisters, but I bought special acne/spot hydrocolloid ones from Korean brand and they are great things. As long as its a bit open, it just sucks all the gunk out overnight and skin is flat by morning. :) (might take two goes of course if massive spot)

Why do you need to dry it out? It will be more likely to scar. You should be moisturising it with something salicylic acid-based like Vichy Normaderm.

Witch hazel (the purest stuff you can buy), tea tree oil (stings) or, best of all, toothpaste as has been said up thread.

Eve Lom Rescue Mask. Expensive, but works really well.

I looked these up, having not heard of them before, and they seem to be very good.

But I also saw that some people can have an allergic reaction so perhaps anyone trying these should try just a tiny one on a different part of the body first rather than the face.

Cut side of a garlic clove, peeled. Smelly but effective.

TCP or toothpaste. Or if you are going out to buy something specifically, then pure tea tree oil (stings like hell but does the job)

Body shop tea tree oil stick for spots. Been using it for 23 years a long time
