Strivectin Handcream ... has anyone tried it?

Another handcream thread! DH went into Space NK before Christmas and asked for a nice handcream. The sales assistant sold him Strivectin handcream and exfoliator. According to the 'blurb' on the packet, it's fantastic for improving the appearance of parchment-like skin on the back of hands. I don't have parchment-like skin but I do have horribly chapped hands - between my fingers and palms - but backs of hands and knuckles are fine. TBH, I think he was ripped off - when selling something at £55 she ought to have asked him a few questions about problem areas rather than lead him to the most expensive handcream in the store!

Anyway, before I return it (he kept the receipt , has anyone used it and if so, is it a miracle cream which I ought to try?

TIA

if you read my other thread re handcreams I bought burt bees (not my cup of tea as it had a horrid medicated smell) I did manage to exchange for another one philosophy lemon something or another, didn't cost anywhere near 55pounds tho pleasant smell and my hands feel nice (tbh its best to smother cream on then do with washing up with rubber gloves on as it makes the cream sink in more)

I have the eye cream and I think it's pretty good. I am coveting the hand cream but can't jusitfy the expense (eye cream bought with gift vouchers so not real money!)

Saw your other thread TLV and glad you got yours exchanged . I've tried everything under the sun and have got some real favourites (Aveda, Origins, Jurlique, Clarins) but nothing is getting near the state of my hands at the moment , hence the need for something a bit more intense, just not sure about this!

Kikidee ... know what you mean about the expense, I was shocked that DH spent that much on a handcream!

Have read that Barielle is very good - might exchange for that and get a credit note to use later - or buy some makeup with the leftovers!

Millie I dont think you should use an exfoliator on chapped hands ,it will make them really sore. I would take it back and exchange for something soothing.

Well done to your Dh though , £55 on a handcream! he is a really nice man

Aveeno do a really good hand cream, all of their range is for really dry skin conditions I think, costs under a tenner as well

Oh, will keep that one in mind too TLV - thanks.

Not used their handcream, but the stretch mark cream is fab.

i was given aveeno handcream for xmas - pretty good on my poor sore hands (flour, gardening, cleaning). if hand exfoliator is needed get crabtree and evelyn, is lovely. yes take back to space nk - get makeup or facial stuff. 55 not good value for hands. will dh mind?

Millie1 · 08/01/2007 17:11

Am taking it back tomorrow ... no he won't mind in the least. Plan to get another handcream (cheaper!) and some makeup!

Hi
I love Liz earle handcream and l'occitane shea butter handcream, really moisturising and not sticky. Smells lovely too. About £12 I think.
