Or anyone for that matter?

I had a baby two weeks ago and I'm BF. I absolutely cannot yet go for a fitting although I will within the next few weeks or so.
Anyway I am in dire need of a brand that fits. Just one to see me through.
I measured my ribcage - 30inches
I measured over my current bra which is padded like a t shirt bra basically and it gave 38 inches.
Roughly what is my size please?? If I have an approximate size then I can batch buy bras in similar size and style and send back what doesn't fit.
Can anyone help my poor squished chest!?

Well that was a difficult bedtime!

They make is Carriwell and I was a 32HH (measured at home) after a couple of weeks and then a 32gg a couple of months later which I stayed at for quite a while. I went with the latge size on the Carriwell bras. There are obviously much more supportive bras out there but for those first couple of weeks I found them excellent.

fwaffy have you tried measuring yourself? Quite often we find that those who describe themselves as having tiny boobs are often wearing something like a 34a or 36a when they need a smaller band and bigger cup, and even on wee boobs it makes such a difference.

Statistically I actually always thought I was a 32a/aa but having used the info on these threads I now wear 30b much more comfortably.

Thinking about it now though I only made the change months into extended BFing DD so I never actually tried looking for proper nursing bras in that size. Might be worth re-visiting it all this time round!

Ah good! Remember that it's totally fine to wear underworld bras when you are feeding so long as they fit well so the wires aren't resting on breast tissue. Quite a lot of people who are less common sizes buy the converter kits online

I used the curvy kate bra whisperer, send two photos, and they get back to you (did take 3 weeks to get my measurement, but worth it) with what size they believe you should be wearing. I went from nursing bras in 36f to their suggestion of a 30H or HH. I bought an H but in hindsight should have got a HH. Regardless, it feels so much better to be in a properly fitting bra, especially when nursing.

Ooh get the bravado seamless nursing bra. It's about £30 and available from John Lewis and loads of other places. You don't need to measure yourself as it only comes in S, M, L, and it's lovely and soft, great for those sore nipples, and it'll grow/shrink with you. Can't recommend it enough. You'll want something a bit more supportive after a while, but I'm still wearing mine 9 months in and it's the comfiest bra I own.

The bra whisperer sounds great! The best bra fitting I had was in Bravisimo when pregnant. It's just a faff to get to on public transport from here. I did wear regular wired bras up to giving birth on their advice as I knew what to check for to make sure they fitted properly. As soon as I felt comfortable with breast feeding (and didn't feel like I was fluctuating between 10 sizes in a day!) I was back in wired bras, first nursing ones and then normal ones.

I didn't expect getting bras when bfing to be such a problem and I was shocked to find how large my breasts were and how many months they stayed huge for! I am 14 months into bfing now and back to the size I was at around 3 months pregnant. Its been nice to wear some of the underwear I put away!

I heartily recommend the bravado body silk seamless bras... They are designed for maternity/nursing but I still wear mine. They are comfy but supportive too - the holy grail! Best thing is they only come in S/M/L/XL sizes so ideal when you are going to be changing shape after the birth. I know I sound like I work for them but i don't! Saw me through two pregnancies and four stone of weight gained/lost!

Those crop top bras look fantastic. But they are suitable from 32inches onwards. Tut.

StatisticallyChallenged - I could kiss you! A 30GG bra delivered today and it fits very well, a little tight across the back but i honestly think that's because I'm so used to wearing loose backs. It'll stretch. Anyway I've ordered a H cup too. Thanks again you lovely woman you! SmileFlowers
