Is there a non-witchy way to go grey?

Do you just have to go cold turkey and accept wiry, frizzy grey hair? Or is there a middle way - without actually dying it a colour. Can you get grey or silver highlights to blend the grey in more so it's more of a gradiant and not have such a contrasty salt and pepper look? And to make it shinier - greying hair often seems so coarse and dull.

Yes there is! I stopped colouring my hair several years back. Last year the grey has got to an amount that it really affected my hair's consistency. It turned dull crispy wiry frizzy messy. For me I had to change products, and by that I mean shampoo and conditioner, I don't use anything else. After much encouragement I stopped using cheap shampoos/conditioners. It took me a few months and trying out 3 or 4 different brands but I now have hair that is super soft again. It's only about 1/5th to 1/4th grey so a bit salt and peppery. You can get highlights and I've considered this at times but I like what's happening naturally so I haven't. I've also started using an upmarket salon and get more frequent trims, where I used to go every 4 or 5 months I now go every 2.5 months religiously.

My greys aren't frizzy thank goodness but they are definitely very dry & tend to be flyaway. I use a brightening conditioner alternating with a heavy-duty moisturising one.

I use a shampoo for itchy/flaky scalps - I think it makes the dryness of my hair worse but I can't bear the itching if I switch. Spending more money on products definitely helps!

Dudsville - I'm starting to reach that stage now, although I've not dyed it yet because I can't face the whole roots thing. It's getting so dry and coarse!

I get a good cut and use lush daddy-o shampoo followed by a rich conditioner. Occasional use of a styling serum kee Po s the frizzies at bay.

It depends on your hair texture I have curly hair which is already dry and the white hairs are even drier and hard to control. I use henna one shade lighter than my natural colour to blend the greys. Grey hair can look beautiful but not on me.

I am a confirmed dyer. But I have recently started using hair oil to tame the frizzy puff ball look. It has made a huge difference
