Something fun to wear for tea at the Ritz and my parents Golden Wedding party.

Um. As the title says. Please will you help me find something (Ideally the same outfit) that will make me not feel old and frumpy. I always get it wrong in buying outfits for things - weddings and stuff. Am a jeans, slouchy jumper, vans type of person. WFH so really rarely dress it up.

Am 44, last year stopped dying my hair so now salt and pepper ringletty curls with an amazing white stripe at the front. May be grey but not frumpy (I hope!)
Pale skin.

Blue eyes.

I think I am a "winter" though never been "done". I suit pale grey, pale blue, bright pink, navy and bright turquoise.

Size 10/12.

Big norks, carry weight on the tops of my arms. Bum/tummy not too horrific.

HATE heels and would rather avoid.

First big event since "going grey" so want something on trend and a bit fun. I don't want to go too dressy/wedding outfit - but for the events I am going to does need to be smart-ish.

I nearly ordered this - but it seems a bit dull. Or could it work if I jazz it up with the right shoes?

How about this? I think such a bold colour with your hair would be a stunning combination if you dare. You'd have the comfort of wearing trousers (the wide ones really lift the whole ensemble up) while still being dressed up and as seen in the black version you can easily wear it with flats.

You don't say where the GW party is or the time of day but I wouldn't personally wear such a 'dressed up' outfit to tea at the Ritz as to an evening party somewhere smart. For the tea would go for a subtler effect, nice top and trousers or jersey dress and boots with classy but not ITT accessories.

Party is lunchtime in country house hotel. About 40 odd people, largely relatives/old friends of family many if whom have not seen for ten/twenty years. So nothing especially glamorous, but want to feel special, and certainly not a frump.

Hence was thinking one outfit may suit both occasions iyswim

Oh and meant to say - would consider budget up to £200 - but rather go less if I can.

I like the dress and I think you can make it less dressed up with the right shoes
