so what do we think of the Clarks silver sporty brogues?

I have to wear flats (injury). Normally Doc Marten shoes or boots in black or Birkenstock. I work in an office but dress fairly casually. Jeans, shirts, skirts, wrap tops etc

I'd love some shoes with colour that are still comfy and think these are really nice - to wear with jeans, skirts or even a dress.

Am I mad?

Wait a while... Am sure they'll be in the sale. I love a fugly shoe, but these are a bit too out there. Try Fiflops if you have to wear flats. They have ballet pumps that feel like you're walking in trainers.

whatiswrongwithyou · 15/03/2016 17:13

Yes, definitely a Clarks shoe!

MrsSteptoe · 15/03/2016 17:16

These wouldn't be for me. I immediately had visions of the Tin Man from The Wizard of Oz.

BikeRunSki · 15/03/2016 18:28

I love silver shoes, and love fugly shoes and work in a smart-casual office. I have the pewter Hamble Oaks (Clark's more formal brogue) and I really want to like the OP's linked shoes but I just can't. I do like a chunky sole, but the big white one just jars. It'll get really grubby too.

herecomesthsun · 15/03/2016 19:19

I also prefer these

vile ! That is all ....

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 15/03/2016 19:26

I love them.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 15/03/2016 19:32

Sorry but I think they are horrible.

Kittykatmacbill · 15/03/2016 20:07

Sorry they are awful. If you want brogues in a crazy colour what about these...

But normal hambles are nice too!

These are the same but nicer

WellTidy · 15/03/2016 20:18

I love all of the Clarks silver shoes that have been linked to in this thread. I would wear them loads as I walk so much, and my spring uniform is navy trousers and Breton tops and sweaters, or t shirts and blazer. Those shoes would all work well for me. I buy for comfort.

I am going to try the hamble oak in silver as they are the only silver ones that they make in a wide fitting.

Cataline · 15/03/2016 20:22

I have the hamble in pewter and love them but am fairly nonplussed at those with the chunky white soles.

LovelyFriend · 15/03/2016 22:51

Judy I like those.

Baby the cut outs just no. Couldn't do that I'm afraid, though the rest of the shoe looks great.

I was really loving the comfy with no socks aspect and was hoping that would trump the funny seam thing.

I've never worn ballerinas as I thought they would flap all over and I have enough issues as it is with dodgy ankle to worry about that. I need shoes that help me to walk more not less.

How about these?

Cool.man.. My 90s clubbing girl friends would have loved these.. I think they look ac.

Tate15 · 16/03/2016 02:00

But they still look like you spray painted those shoes you wear to go bowling!

EmpressTomatoKetchup · 16/03/2016 08:32

I love a silver shoe but the chunky white sole doesn't look right with the silver upper. The plumo ones are nice, or the hamble oak.

polyhymnia · 16/03/2016 14:45

Have to admit I do rather like that sort of thing. But Im not a Clarks fan - always seem a bit 'off' to me. I have not totally dissimilar from Geox which IMO are more stylish and I do like a lot.

caker · 16/03/2016 15:51

I liked the look of pewter Hamble oaks but found them far too narrow even in the wide fitting unfortunately.

Levantine · 16/03/2016 16:56

The shop assistant in Top Shop Boutique in Selfridges was wearing shoes just like the ones in the OP when I was in there today. Surely fashun has spoken?

LovelyFriend · 16/03/2016 21:31

Love the Kurt Geiger ones but I'm
Never spending £110 on a pair of silver shoes Grin

£65 is about top of my budget.

No no no to the ones in the OP. Just no. No.
