Do you have those bumps at the tops of your arms?

I've had them...forever!

I've tried exfoliating, moisturising, diet changes, every tip I've ever read on here including the one below which I must give credit to another poster - I'm ashamed to say I can't remember who!

I picked up this Soap and Glory 'The Scrub of your Life' tube today and have given it a try. After one use I have noticed a definite improvement both in the look and feel of my arms. I can't wait to continue using it and will update!

I have these but they are lots of small spots.

I ve had them all my life, my aunt is ithe only person in our family with them.

Nobody seems to know what they are

bonzo77 · 14/03/2016 19:17

They're probably keratosis pilaris. They're genetic. Much improved with heavy duty exfoliation and moisturiser. As a teenager I used a scourer and hand cream. Sunlight also helps.

Handsupbabyhandsup · 14/03/2016 19:19

It's gluten intolerance that causes them for me. Gone if I'm gluten free but they come back once I have a few exposures

AnyFucker · 14/03/2016 19:21

I love that Soap and Glory scrub.

DonkeyOaty · 14/03/2016 19:21

Keratosis pilaris

Urea cream works (stuff like flexitol)

NickNacks · 14/03/2016 19:22

I've tried Flexitol and many other creams with Urea in and they haven't worked Sad

Soap and glory clean on me shower gel helps too. Got fruit acids in. I tend to leave it to sit on my arms for a bit while I wash the rest of me

NickNacks · 14/03/2016 19:26

I am adding the whole range to my birthday list!!

I used that a couple of years ago after reading about it on here and the spots have never come back. I'm so much less selfconscious now.

DrivingMissLazy1 · 14/03/2016 19:27

I scrub every day with an exfoliating sponge (a bathroom sponge sized version of one of those kitchen sponge/scrubs iyswim). I then use moisturisor. This has always worked for me.

MrsUnderwood · 14/03/2016 19:35

exfoliating mitts and the Dove moisturising shower gel worked for me.

JennyOnAPlate · 14/03/2016 19:51

The only thing I've found which makes the slightest difference to mine is sunlight. I spent 6 months rubbing flexitol in and it made bugger all difference Sad

AnyFucker · 14/03/2016 19:57

that scrub is great after shaving legs too

allegretto · 14/03/2016 19:59

I grew out of them at around 35 (now in my forties) so if you are younger there is hope!

GiddyGiddyGoat · 14/03/2016 19:59

A low carb diet is the thing that got rid of mine - no sugar and they've disappeared completely.

oldlaundbooth · 14/03/2016 19:59

You are all WRONG

The only thing that works on those annoying little red spots is reducing sugar in your diet.

I had those annoying bumps for years - low carb and low sugar sorted them.

NickNacks · 14/03/2016 20:01

I'm 34 and 10 months! Grin

Roseberrry · 14/03/2016 20:02

It works on your arms but not on legs Sad

It's interesting to read about a low sugar diet helping though. I'm addicted to sugar and keep thinking I must give it up, getting rid of my dotty legs might be the final push. Would just not eating sweets etc be enough or do you have to give up everything that ha sugar in? For example tomato soup has a fair bit of sugar, is that off the cards?

GiddyGiddyGoat · 14/03/2016 20:05

It's not just me then - it must be true!
Yes, go cold turkey on the carbs - your spotty arms will thank you and you'll feel 10 years younger....

TurnOffTheTv · 14/03/2016 20:06

I've been using Eucarin with urea twice a day for two weeks now and my legs and arms feel amazing. I'm nearly 40 and have hated them for years. You have to be diligent in applying though.

NickNacks · 14/03/2016 20:08

I tried diet changes and nothing worked!

I'm currently on Cambridge diet and still no difference.

Got them too, am very fair-skinned so am self-conscious about them and my bingo wings.

Roseberrry · 14/03/2016 20:16

I've just ordered some of that turnoffthetv, do you put it on once a day?

MistressMerryWeather · 14/03/2016 20:17

Wow, I'm delighted to hear this stuff actually worked.

I've just ordered some.

Thank ya, lovie.
