Frizzy hair buddies....help!

I am after the holy grail of hair serums. I am happy to pay a fair amount for one, but I need help. I have naturally curly hair, but I straighten it a lot which dries it out. I need some recommendations, I feel I've lost my way with my hair and it needs some taming.

What do you ladies do to tame your locks?

I used to have curly hair. These days its grey but permanently dyed and frizzy:( I really hope someone can recommend something that definitely works

I used to spend an absolute fortune on hair stuff for my frizzy maine. I now use blueberry Alberto Balsam shampoo and conditioner. And Boots style works serum and heat spray. I use coconut oil once a week, as a deep conditioner. I can curl it too now, whereas before it would just frizz up because it was so dry.

I have a cupboard full or Argan oil/morrocan oil serums etc that don't suit my hair Shock my two favourites are L'oreal extraordinary oil and before that I used their mythic oil. Occasionally I use a Garnier one which is nice on freshly washed hair but the next day my hair would be a greaseball. The L'oreal one I use very sparingly and is lovely still the next day.

Sad to say anyone else who replies I will probably order some of what they like too and use once and stash in my cupboard still searching for that elusive holy grail hair product Grin

I like L'Oreal extraordinary oil too. Also like Garnier ultimate blends sleek perfector oil too. I use some on wet hair before blow drying, then add to my dried hair before straightening and then yet more to style. Tames my unruly Tina turner like mop!

I use a co-wash and curl cream. Serums I found made my hair lank. Co washing retains the moisture and the curl cream holds the curls with on frizz.

After years of chasing a wonder product and failing to find one, I've come to the conclusion that for my hair, its all about the conditioning as my hair is much less frizzy when its not super dry.

So like cranky I'm currently using coconut oil one a week as a deep conditioner and a little Paul Mitchell super skinny serum before I blow dry and again before I straighten with a little bit more allover afterwards - my hair is super thick and dry and just soaks it up and the frizz is under control at the moment.

Also searching for the perfect product! So far argan oil has disappointed me. Best finds have been a tresseme heat defence spray, liberal amounts of the max strength john frieda Frizz-Ease serum, Frizz-Ease shampoo was good, the Frizz-Ease 5 minute mask conditioner is also brilliant.

Currently using the Aussie frizz shampoo and Aussie frizz 3-minute miracle conditioner, plus I think it's called Guardian Angel spray? Before drying and before straightening.

I've tried everything, my hair is curly but very dry. When I was in my twenties the best way I found was Frizz ease on soaking wet hair. But I'm now in my fourties with a thyroid condition and my hair is dryer than ever. I tried coconut oil but it did nothing. I did a bit of online research and have discovered GLYCERINE! It's very cheap and has done wonders on my hair and dry legs. You must mix it with water and I'm sure as with all things it'll take a bit of trial and error. I got mine from the chemist bit of the supermarket. Definitely give it a go, for me it's been a revelation.

ShebaQueen · 06/02/2016 21:09

I swear by Frizz-Ease serum and as Ovaries says, it works best on soaking wet hair. I also find not rubbing with a towel, but wearing a microfibre turban until my hair is about 80% dry, then blow drying works best. I run straighteners over it right at the end.

My hair behaves better on day 2 and even 3 so I've stopped washing it so often and use dry shampoo in-between times - even though it makes my hair dull, at least it's smooth Smile

SirChenjin · 06/02/2016 21:13

Frizz Ease or coconut oil - both used sparingly and both on soaking wet hair. Blast until almost dry with the hairdryer and then the Babyliss Big Hair - the best invention ever - to smooth it. Et voila.

Sadmum19 · 06/02/2016 21:31

Aveda have a nice range for curly hair with a nice curl styling cream but doesn't last a full day before I start to frizz out.

Tigi curlesque and Tigi bed head control freak serum help me and are what I use day to day.

Jmangel · 06/02/2016 21:50

Huge second for glycerine - I mix a 10p piece size with leave in conditioner, John Frieda wind down cream and argon oil - 4 different things I know but it works. Hair gets tamed into glossy s shaped waves rather than tatty frizzy spiral curls.

mcdog · 08/02/2016 20:10

Thanks ladies :) do any of you use them when you want your hair straight?

Always - my hair doesn't do straight without a lot of persuasion
