my dentist just started offering it! really excited - don't think I need it yet but give my frown line another 5 years....

is it expensive? presuming so as there were no prices mentioned in dentist's newsletter!

your dentist? they're branching out these days!

Dont think i'd go to dentist for botox. Would prefer proper beauty clinic type place. Think dentist probably just doing as 'nice little earner'.

How much is said dentist charging?

dinny · 24/12/2006 11:44

don't know how much (yet!)

God, I'd trust my dentist to do it more than anyone! he's fabulously fab

I've had Botox, fom my husband!!He is a GP,but also a qualified surgeon(was a gynaecologist)and does lots of minor operations in the surgery and some hospital work too.Lots of my friends have had it too and think it is great! I think the secret is enough to make you look 'fresher'(i have frown lines and forehead) but not too much so you are frozen. It usually costs £150 upwards depending how much you have.HTH

fairydust · 24/12/2006 15:17

yeh my daughter is strapped to a table every six months to have it.

themoon66 · 24/12/2006 22:27

I would love to have it... but every 6 months works out expensive. And I would need loads to iron out this lot!

gingermonkey · 08/01/2007 19:30

SilentTerror, you lucky moo!!!! Now I know why I should've stuck it out with the med student at uni!!!!! Ha Ha!
Dinny, I have it every 5 or 6 months and it's great, but addictive. I don't need it really, I just have it to make myself look a bit chirpier and fresher, a bit on the crease in the middle of my forehead and some in the bit between my eyebrows. I think it's well worth it. I usually pay about £300 for both areas.

I think dentists are probably an excellent choice for botox.
They do an awful lot of infiltration day to day ie using a syringe and needle when they use local anaesthetic and their knowledge of facial anatomy is much better than most medics.
I am a medic and would delighted if my dentist offered botox.
However am still debating whether I really need to have my one frown line in between my eyes removed. I am quite attached to it.

Still think I'd head for a facial plastic surgeon rather than a dentist.
