Hourglass powder

Anyone used this? I need a touch up powder for one quick swip at lunch.
Les beiges was awful and went Orange on contact with oils.
I use bourjois pale bronzer now as it doesn't go orange and I look less deathly pale. But I would like something lighter for winter. Anyone tried or is it just ridiculous hype?

I love the dim light one from Hourglass, it really gives a blurred effect so the skin looks smoother but without any obvious glitter/shine effect. I have bought the 3 colour set and also the luminous one but dim light is my favourite.

Thanks safety - which is the palest of the three?

Would you recommend I buy the three palette or just one?

Just had a look at their website and Ethereal light is the lightest - it's best to test it at the counter. I liked the palette because it gave you a small version of 3 colours to try, and you can use it as a subtle contouring kit. I think the light one in the palette is not sold on its own. They're pricey though, so all the more important to test them in a shop.

I had the assistant apply the palette on me and was very underwhelmed. I was looking to buy it there and then as well but I couldn't see any difference and neither could DH. Think I'll give it one more go before I dismiss it as the idea is really appealing.

What effect are you looking for OP? If just shine reducing I'm sure there is better out there

Also there is a MUA (I think) dupe for it which is only a fiver and also worth a go

I also gave the mua dupe. Not that impressed. I also got a sample becca shimmering skin perfecting cream & it's quite good for highlighting, as is ABH so Hollywood, but as a disclaimer, I rarely get time to throw make up on, let alone inspect it. Nothing in my makeup collection is a dramatic enough change that makes me want to repurchase :(. (Apart from the £1 mua eyebrow pencil)

Just a bit of blurring and glossing during the day. I am washed out at this time of year so could do with something to spruce up my make up.....maybe the hype turned my head!

I have the Ambient Lighting Edit, which has 3 of the powders, 2 blushes and a bronzer and I really like all except the Mood Exposure blush, which I find too glittery as a blush colour. Having said that, I think I prefer the NARS setting powder to the Ambient Lighting Powders.

I tried this palette instore, nice packaging and the trio looked lovely, but it was not different enough from what I already have to justify the price. I have some travel size Meteorites pearls, an old Chanel highlighting powder, and two different mineral foundations (Lily Lolo, the Innisfree compact) and the finished look is just about the same.

Some of you seem to think it's a highlighter, it isn't so you can't compare it and MUA don't make a dupe of it, Revolution do...

It looks beautiful on & in photos OP.

And to the others if you can't notice a difference I think it must be your eyes already blurring what you see when you look in the mirror!

I bought 'Diffused Light' and tbh I'm disappointed with it. It's sparkly, not my idea of offering 'a discreet glow' at all.

According to Sephora.com, the main ingredient is mica. That mixed with various pigments is ubiquitous in cosmetics, the idea is to add a light-reflecting property to the skin via these tiny particles.

can anyone recommend another powder as a touch up to give me an evened out skin tone and a bit of a life. Will look at MUA And MUR though thanks

MUA do a powder that has the four colours (green, peach, yellow& purple) that I swirl my brush in and helps even out my redness

Try the original satin Corn Silk powder. I've been using the loose version but it comes in a pressed version too. Very sheer but gives a real soft focus glow.

Sleek do a lovely luminous finishing powder too but depends on your skin tone as the lightest shade may be too dark

I've caved and bought the edit pallette from net a porter it'll arrive today. I love the diffused light powder for my nc15-20 skin and really wanted to try more and this is a way of trying 5 more without paying the £200+ to pay for 5 full size ones and I see the small size as a plus, for the last 2 years whenever I'm away I automatically put in my make up bag the really handy narcissist cheek pallette it was £30 ish and contained a small highlighter, orgasm and laguna and came with a small brush. It'll be good to have a similar item that also covers finishing powder too
