I love looking at engagement rings. Does anyone want to share photos? It's not a boasting thread,my ring wasn't particularly expensive. Just for fun.

Mines a pink sapphire with little diamonds either side.

I love mine so much. Near perfect, just under a carat, bezel set. Was an old ring in yellow gold, remade for me in white gold.

Shame I don't wear it anymore. Yay for divorce.

Mine is from 2005, white gold 2 sapphires and a diamond. We had to get the wedding ring made to fit in 2008. Love it to bits

Odd angle.

3/4 carat flawless diamond in platinum from independent jeweller in our home town. Dh went for perfection over size which I appreciate.

Wedding band is plain halo profile platinum band. I was tempted by a more ornate one,but I like the e ring standing out a bit more,and the plain band looks really elegant on its own.

Mine is vintage - it was made in 1963 (I got it in 2006). It has 11 little diamonds and the setting us white gold but the band is yellow gold.

Pollyperky I get a mani/pedi once every 3 weeks, sometimes stretch to 4 if I have shellac on and it's lasting well. It takes an hour.....no time at all in the great scheme of things.

Lovely thread not one I can join, but I do love rings.

TwoExtra, my grandma's is like that, the band is gold but the shank and setting are platinum. Actually, so is my great aunt's. You don't tend to see it nowadays.

Didn't expect this thread to be so interesting but I'm really enjoying looking at everyone's rings! Here are mine, made locally. The wedding ring has a curve to fit each side of the engagement ring so you can wear it whichever way you like. They need a clean really . Both are white gold, undipped so have just a hint of yellow gold about them as I don't really like super sparkling dipped white gold or platinum. The go really well with my watch.

Since having my DC I've not managed to get my wedding and engagement rings on. Pear shaped diamond set in platinum.

But I have got my diamond and tanzanite ring that fits. The diamonds were my husbands, grandmothers engagement ring and another ring she was give as an apology for an indiscretion by my DH's grandfather who was then killed in the war. She remarried and they were put in a safe until they handed down to us. We had them reset about 3 years ago now.

I've been looking for an eternity ring that won't be dwarfed by it, but they are all too expensive

Here is my engagement ring - silver with black diamond and cubic zirconia (2 years old) and my wedding ring - enamel coated stainless steel with inset cubic zirconia stones (18 months old).

I wear my engagement ring on my right hand as it obviously doesn't fit or go with my wedding ring! But I love them both.

I love this thread! My rings all need redipping now, but I love them. Eternity ring at the top has no stones in but engraved all the way round so it sparkles just as much as my wedding ring at the bottom.

Witsender, your rings are beautiful! I love the stories behind them all, how unique they all are. Where I am from your engagment ring is traditionally the plain band and the eternity/solitaire for when you get married.

DH proposed with a solitaire (he is frm uk) and I was over the moon. When we get married I will go for a plain rose gold band. I adore them. My grandmother used to wear to plain rose gold bands together. It makes me all teary thinking of her loving, wrinkly hands with those treasured rings symbolising her 60yrs of marriage.
She was so proud of her marriage. Not a diamond in sight but those two plain bands looked so chic and classy on her hands. I adored it.

Here's mine. The wedding band is a totally plain platinum band. I needed plain fir the ceremony for religious reasons, and wanted that to be the one I always wore. The engagement ring is a 1ct Asscher cut set in platinum. It's a copy of a 1920's one, but made by a friend of DH. The setting is very low to protect it: I never take it off even for gardening, mucking out etc. I normally wear the eternity ring on my other hand, I put it on my left so you can see it! It's 8 small diamonds in white gold.

My engagement and eternity rings were both bought in Turkey - I got engaged and married there. The eternity ring was funded by an inheritance from my grandmother (I know it's unusual to buy your own eternity ring!) and the rubies represent her as they were her birth stone.

Engagement ring and wedding ring bought 17 years ago and eternity was a present for our 10 year anniversary.

They need a good clean mind you, but I love when the light catches them and they sparkle and they still make me smile
