Gap kids clothes sizing

Gap have a decent sale on at the moment and I'm trying to pick up a few things for my boys. I don't usually shop there, but have a feeling that the clothes come up big. Does anyone know if this is true? Thank you

I usually buy a size bigger than their age in most shops but I did this with gap hoodies and jackets and had to return them as they were way too big. I would buy clothes for their actual age. That said my boys are one of the tallest in their classes.

I buy 3 year old DS t shirts and jumpers that are 3 years in Gap - they fit well with a bit of growing room. Trousers I find more tricky from there as he has a bit of a tummy and short legs.

I find them way too big. My almost two year old is in size 9-12 months gap clothes. She is pretty skinny though.

I have found the opposite. The toddler range is small made. DD is a petite little thing and gap was the only place I actually bought her size the same as her age. When she was 4 she was in Gap age 4T but age 2-3 from almost everywhere else.

The bigger kids ranges do come up big and go by XS/S/M/L. She is now 6 and in just moving onto age 5/6 clothes but GAP XS comes up too big for her and age 5T is too small.

I have some secondhand 12-18months clothes for DD and everything in the bundle from gap is 2-3 or 18-24 and fits her now. She's 1. So in my opinion the little stuff is bigger than other shops. When I've bought for nephews and nieces the older sizes are accurate.

I think they are probably true to size or a tiny bit small. I bought my DD leggings and they are exactly the same length as the size below from Next (age 2 gap & 18-24 next) however they have plenty of growing room so the correct size would probably be perfect fit (but not for long).

Depends on the size range. Toddler seems to come up a bit bigger but the older kids range small. Dd is almost 10 and still comfortably 9-10 in next or Boden but gap I've just brought xl which is age 12 and whilst slightly big not hugely so whereas the age 11 (10-11) jumper I brought her in next was huge and had to be swapped for a smaller size.

I find them tiny! Especially the girls, and especially pyjamas.

I think the toddler stuff is definitely on the small side. DS has a Gap aged 3 jumper which he can barely fit in, but he's comfortably in aged 2-3 from Tesco/Sainsburys/Asda.

It's nothing like their adult clothes, IME, which are huge.

I find them small if not tiny. Ds is 3 and we dress him 5-6yrs in GAP

I would say are tiny, as in the smallest out of all the shops. DD is in 2-3 everywhere (she's 2) apart from Gap where she's 3-4 and it fits.

Gap sizing is weird. If you buy a size 2 tshirt from the baby section it is way bigger than a 2 in the toddler section.
