Where can I get nice gym wear on the cheap?

All of the sports directs near me are quite naff and full of heavily logo-ed Lonsdale.

I love the jazzy graphic running tights from Nike store.nike.com/gb/en_gb/pd/printed-engineered-running-tights/pid-10294170/pgid-10957568 but I cannot warrant £80 for them.

Has anyone seen some similar gym wear about? Either on outlet or discounted sites, or lesser known brands? My hunting isn't going very well.

I am looking for some colourful running tights, a crop top and some vests.

Fabletics - use the intro discount to get them down to a reasonable price?

WanderingTrolley1 · 26/10/2015 13:28

Sainsbury's do good workout wear.

pseudonymity · 26/10/2015 13:31

H&M best on the good/cheap continuum imo

OnlyLovers · 26/10/2015 13:33

I agree with TK Maxx. As always, you have to get lucky (they sometimes have nice stuff but in the wrong size), but I've had a lot of big-brand gym stuff from there on the cheap.

Marshy · 26/10/2015 13:34

H&m is good but the leggings go a bit see through when you pull them on - or maybe I just need a bigger size Grin

Branleuse · 26/10/2015 13:44

h&m has some really groovy stuff. Also Peacocks has some good basics. I got some running leggings from there that are really comfy

Runningupthathill82 · 26/10/2015 14:21

I think all the supermarket brands are shite for doing serious exercise in - sorry! H&M, New Look etc aren't much better in my experience.

Decathlon, however, is absolutely great - and the aldi/Lidl running events can throw up some decent finds occasionally.

SarahSavesTheDay · 26/10/2015 14:22

H&M.
TKMaxx.

Naicecuppatea · 26/10/2015 15:29

I agree with Running. It depends what you want the clothing for really. I have M&S capri tights and they've been great for running, as good as my Adidas tights. I have a Sainsburys hooded top and the fit is awful, really tight sleeves. I also have a Karrimor long sleeved 'running' top and the material is unbreathable. In general I find the specific branded 'for running' sportswear the best.

Cerseirys · 26/10/2015 15:31

TK Maxx?

LizardBreath · 26/10/2015 15:41

I got some nice leggings from h&m yesterday, they are v bright with zip pocket on back and crucially don't stretch to see through over my fat ass! Not worn / washed them properly yet but first impressions good!

I do get a lot of Nike shorts / vests from sports direct, online shopping by size / brand is much easier there!

mimiasovitch · 27/10/2015 12:57

You can get decent sportswear from a number of places already mentioned. The problem is that the leggings in the op are awesome and I want them. Will be scanning for sales I think! I can't justify £80 for running in the woods with a few dog walkers for company Grin

BumbleNova · 27/10/2015 14:58

H&M. its really good value, wears and washes really well and they do some jazzy leggings. I've had some of their gear for nearly three years and it still looks great.

CMOTDibbler · 27/10/2015 15:03

I buy mine from Sweatshop, Sports Direct or Decathlon normally.

But I really want those Nike one now!

CatMilkMan · 27/10/2015 15:07

Under armour.

1moreglassplease · 27/10/2015 15:34

Have you tried the Next directory? They sell their own range as well as the expensive branded stuff. I joined a gym a few months ago and got my gear from their and it's really nice, good quality.

AnonymousBird · 27/10/2015 16:13

Decathlon is brilliant, and such good value. Aldi good too - I got those running trousers last week - wow they are so warm and comfortable under my cycling trousers.

Not tried others, but have heard some of the other supermarkets are good value for nice items.

Melfish · 28/10/2015 00:16

Got some of the gym stuff- leggings, top and jacket- from Primark last year. It's washed and worn well.

banff82 · 28/10/2015 00:42

I tend to wear Salomon or Arc'teryx capris and tops and Nike bras for running and climbing as they're very good-quality, hard wearing, breathable materials which wick sweat well and don't ride up etc., but I also have a couple of pairs of capris, a few tops and two bras from H&M that I wear for general gym/weight training which were really reasonably priced and are all great - comfortable and have washed well. They have a great range of colours and patterns too.

You can find the branded stuff more cheaply though - try the Snow+Rock or Cotswold Outdoor sales for Salomon and Arc'teryx gear, and Sports Direct or TKMaxx for Nike/Adidas etc.

Nettletheelf · 28/10/2015 06:24

I second M&M direct. You can get some great bargains.

Deianira · 28/10/2015 06:54

If it's for running, Sweatshop do brilliant sales - things end up being reduced by a lot, so I buy a lot of my kit then!

JackCuse · 28/10/2015 11:13

Tesco have some great Nike-like gym wear, I buy my stuff from there.

I had a wander through New Look the other day looking for a gift and saw loads of great gym wear so I need to get back in there for a proper root around.

BreeVDKamp · 28/10/2015 11:18

Primark!

starsinyourpies · 28/10/2015 15:58

Gap when on 30% off.
