Can anyone recommend? I've had the same one for 10 years and would love a new one! Hoping to cut drying time mainly. Any one got an amazing one???

It has arrived!! Is the red button a cold shot setting? Do you find it useful? How do you use it??

EXCITED!

My Toni & Guy branded one is actually made by Parlux and I'm on my second one now. First one lasted over 10 years. My sis in law works for T&G and they use them in the salon or used to... I think they are Label M now but for all intents and purposes, they are the same thing.

Cheshireblue · 28/10/2015 18:13

I also got a Parlux after reading on here and I will never use anything else. There is speculation that EU rules will soon ban powerful hairdryers (like they did a couple of years ago with vacuum cleaners) so I am tempted to get a spare one in just in case

Leelu6 · 28/10/2015 18:15

Another Diva fan here, bought one at Sally's for £40.

Has anyone used both Diva and Parlux and noticed a difference?

Leelu6 · 28/10/2015 18:17

@Cheshireblue - wow...why are these EU guys always targeting women - tampon tax, vacuum cleaners and now hairdryers Grin

tethersend · 28/10/2015 18:29

I just want one with a cable that won't tangle- I am currently having to bend double to dry my hair as the flex is so tightly twisted and tangled up.

Can anyone vouch for Diva and/or Parlux on this front?

bluebluecow · 28/10/2015 18:31

Babyliss Boutique Italian is fantastic. Silky smooth hair and dries very quickly. I paid about 85 in Argos a couple of years ago and worth every penny!

Cheshireblue · 28/10/2015 18:33

I know Leelu6 - cant imagine how they will get us next!!

chumbler · 28/10/2015 18:35

So... The red button???

argos travel hairdryer..£5.99

superbfairywren · 28/10/2015 19:15

ETI, Recommended by my hairdresser and has lasted 5years so far. Fab

Leelu6 · 28/10/2015 19:36

@tethersend - my Diva hairdryer's cord has never tangled. I bought it in 2010.

tethersend · 28/10/2015 19:42

Leelu6, that's all the accolade I need- cheers Smile

LeftMyRidingCropInTheMortuary · 28/10/2015 21:41

YY to tweezerman tweezers - gets my black chin hairs out when they're barely visible. Ended up chucking away my cheapo ones which just break the hairs off half the time.

YY to parlux. Saves so much time! Hair goes smooth instead of frizzy.

AddToBasket · 28/10/2015 23:17

I went into Sally Hair & Beauty to buy the Parlux but the sales assistant suggested Veloce instead. A bit cheaper but just as good. I love it! Quite heavy, though, like the Parlux.

lorelei9 · 29/10/2015 11:46

I'd like a hairdryer that will dry my hair faster but as far as I can see, that's about voltage, and my hairdryer is 2200W - it seems it goes as high as 2300W so not much difference?

Does anyone feel there's a big difference in drying time with any of the Diva models mentioned here (which look reasonably priced, can't afford a fancy one). I would prefer one that's not too heavy either.

I always curse hotel hairdryers but not sure what is compatible abroad, esp in US where they have those crappy bathroom hair dryers.

lorelei9 · 29/10/2015 11:47

PS when I say "compatible" because the US is on lower voltage I think if you plug in an adaptor, it won't reach top voltage as it does here anyway, is that right?

chumbler · 29/10/2015 14:43

My Nicky Clarke and parlux are apparently the same wattage, but the parlux is much more powerful

So ladies, do you use the red cold shot button?????

OP posts:
LeftMyRidingCropInTheMortuary · 29/10/2015 16:58

Using the cold blast thingy does make my hair smoother and shinier.

Anything that saves me time and makes me look less horrendous on working mornings is good for me!

chumbler · 29/10/2015 17:59

Thanks left when exactly do you use it? At the end to "finish" your hair off?

OP posts:
Meowandchoppychops · 29/10/2015 20:13

Chumbler I use the cold shot to either compelely dry my hair in the summer or to get it from damp to dry as the cold shot helps seal the hair and make it shiny, also does less damage which is brill if you have fine hair like me.

Do the parlux ones come with diffusers? I have long super curly hair so use a diffuser most of the time but also need something that won't konk out when I straighten it like my poor old boots one does

Twinkie1 · 29/10/2015 20:15

One word, Parlux. You'll never buy another hairdryer.

LeftMyRidingCropInTheMortuary · 29/10/2015 20:16

Hello, I just give final, all over blast of cold air. Seems to "set" the hair straight, stops it frizzing up again.

The parlux I got came with a nozzle thingy but not a diffuser. I'm sure you can buy one to fit it though. If not made by parlux then the right size one will still fit.

Leelu6 · 30/10/2015 06:54

Lorelei - I find the Diva dries my long hair quickly. I don't find it heavy, but then I haven't another dryer in 5 years.

lorelei9 · 30/10/2015 10:47

thanks Leelu

there's a Diva on QVC so if it's not good, I can send it back

it's got one of those awful demo videos which doesn't actually show anyone drying damp hair though, grr!
