Bourgois Little Round Pot- which colour should I choose?

I usually use Nars Orgasm blush, but can no longer afford it, so am thinking of switching to Bourgois. Can anyone suggest what colour what colour would be best for fair to light olive skin/blue eyes (or most like Orgasm).
I need to order online so I can't test on the shop.
Thanks!

Rose D'or would be the closest but I wouldn't bother with the Bourjois blushers as they're crap. Chalky, powdery and poorly pigmented.

Sleek Rose Gold blusher is an almost identical dupe for NARS Orgasm. Costs about a fiver. Amazing quality.

Sleek Rose Gold blush is a dupe for Nars Orgasm

NattyGolfJerkin · 20/10/2015 14:12

The bourjois blushes are fine if you have a tendency to overdo blusher or are pale as they really do take some layering.

Sleek's rose gold is the opposite end of the spectrum, pigment wise. I find it too much on my fair skin - I look like a burnt glitter ball with it on but if you are more medium or darker skinned, it might suit. That said, I don't get on with Orgasm either.

NotTodaySatan · 20/10/2015 14:15

I don't like Orgasm either (least of all the name - eurgh). I recently bought NARS Sin and it's a much nicer and more subtle colour for my pale skin.

The Sleek blushes are crazy pigmented but I'm never going to see that as a bad quality. With the right brush and a light hand you can apply the teeniest amount and get a lovely result. I'm currently obsessed with their blusher in Antique. The perfect Autumn blusher imo.

Oh ok, I had read about Sleek blushers. I will give them a go.

Why all the great reviews for Bourgois then? I will stay away.

Thanks everyone!

I love bourgeois but am also very fair. The blushes are lovely shades and not too heavy, you build up pigment gradually and the pots last for ages

Anyone a fan of any cream blushes? I have a lovely bright pink one from makeup forever that I used to wear a lot because of my red hair. Want to get a nice one in peach.

No7 have a nice peachy blusher stick I might try..

MoriartyIsMyAngel · 20/10/2015 16:33

I have done a test with Orgas on one cheek and Rose Gold on the other and can't tell the difference between them. You need to use a lighter touch with Sleek though, as someone already pointed out.

ELF apparently make an Orgasm dupe too, in a duo with a Laguna bronzer dupe. I don't really rate them tbh.

Ilovetorrentialrain · 20/10/2015 19:08

OP I clicked on this to say Sleek Rose Gold as a dupe. Great quality and packaging ( company with mirror). About £4.99. I got one from Superdrug..

compact

I do love mumsnet. I've been trying to justify buying Nars Orgasm online for ages and now I can try the sleek one first! Oh happy day. :)

HopefulAnxiety · 20/10/2015 19:35

Sleek have new cream blushes out that apparently are great, also the Collection cheek sticks.

My very pale best friend and slightly less pale but still pale me look great in Sleek Rose Gold...maybe it's skintone?

mewkins · 20/10/2015 22:01

With the little pots they work best if you sort of scrape the top layer a bit before applying.

SeasonalVag · 21/10/2015 02:30

I use argent, it really highlights my eyes which are dark green. A line of it across my upper eyelashes knocks years off me, not sure how that works

NattyGolfJerkin · 21/10/2015 09:32

Argent is an eyeshadow, yes?

mewkins, I agree re scraping off the top layer a bit. The oils from your skin (transferred via your brush) seem to 'set' the top layer of the baked formula and making it shiny and sealing the colour a bit. It happens with all baked formulas.

HPsauciness · 21/10/2015 09:39

I like Bourgeois blusher, Rose D'Or but I am very pale and so having to apply a few gos is fine for me. It is quite powdery though. I also use Maybelline Dream Touch in no7 which is again a good colour if you are really pale and is slightly creamier.

The powders that are very pigmented are probably fine on a slightly less ghostly skin tone!

HopefulAnxiety · 21/10/2015 09:44

Pale people can use pigmented blush, I do. Just apply with a light hand. I pick up very little on a brush and tap tap tap it on.

I've worn bright orange blush, fuchsia, red, plum...and they all looked great.
