Outfit for long haul flight

Hi I'm flying to Mexico (Pacific coast) at the weekend and am struggling to know what to wear for the flight. It's currently hot and humid in Mexico but chilly here! I want to avoid jeans as I find them uncomfy for long flights and will feel far too hot when we arrive!
I am size 18-20 which doesn't help ( working in that 15lbs down but lots more to go!) and I'm trying to feel a bit more stylish and ' put together' .
I tend to wear Boden dresses with or without leggings, maxi dresses, linen trousers and loose tops.

Please help!

I have recently come back from Cape Town - a 17 hour journey including stopover in Dubai. I too debated what to wear, and ended up wearing a maxi dress with a little cardi. And flip flops! I felt reasonably smart but also supremely comfortable. It was the perfect outfit for me. Hope that helps :)

Cotton trousers, vest top + cardi/loose long sleeve? Nice to have pockets for headphones or anything you need on flight, layers for the plane. Plus a ballet flat or sandal.

When I travelled to florida recently I wore a pair of black wet/ leather look leggings that were as comfy as pj bottoms, a long line black loose top with a sheer panel at the back and my old trusty gladiator sandals with a leopard print large pashmina. I also took a pair of slipper socks in my bag for the flight.
I think the key is to stay comfy!!

I wear lots of layers so leggings/harem pants, a vest, overshirt, cardi and pashmina. Socks and trainers (dead cool me) for all that walking in the airport.

When you get there just remove layers and swap the trainers and socks for the sandals you cunningly remembered to put in your back pack (again sexy me, but I travel a lot alone and backpack is the ONLY way). Keep pashmina handy so you can wrap up in the overkeen aircon in the airport/in transport to hotel.

I make lots of long haul flights.

My uniform consists of thin jersey yoga pants and tee ( usually black ). Fine knit cardi or sweater.

I dress fairly smartly (dark skinny jean / blazer style jacket / silk t-shirt / leather ballet pumps or mocasins) for check in and the lounge. Then change on the flight into leggings and a large cashmere jumper over the silk t-shirt.

I also take pashmina plus thick walking socks. And a neck pillow. Take all make up off, change clothes, slather on thick night cream, glass of champers, eye mask and sleep!

I always wear cotton trousers (I have a great pair of combat style I got from Gap a few years ago so a few pockets).

Over that, I wear a plain white or black t shirt, a cardigan to match trousers and have a mobius scarf or a wrap around my neck. Depending on the flight and destination - the scarf will be just to cover my eyes (like a hoodie over my head) and help me sleep; or be a warmer one as an extra layer.

On overnight flights, the tshirt may be long sleeved as I always feel cold trying to sleep. Or have an extra layer (tops I can layer, or even an actual hoodie to go over the cardigan for sleep).

I would always have a change of clothes in my carryon anyway, for emergencies, and would be likely to change my top in the morning so having a warmer set leaving UK and a more summery version for arrival works well. And by having both sets in the same colour, they can work well with the trousers/cardigan combo. (So a long sleeved white top leaving here, and change to a scoopneck vest-type tshirt for arrival perhaps).

Comfy shoes, my long haul flight stockings (oh so sexy, but really DO help keep swelling down), and a comfy pair of socks over those (I sometimes put in a pair of hiking socks for sleeping and change back to regular thin socks for shoes) completes the look.

I should have said, your linen trousers, a loose top and a cardigan/wrap over that for cooler air would be great. And you can put the cardi/wrap in your bag before landing if it will be warm in Mexico.

I wore a strappy maxi dress on my long haul flight recently. I took a woolly cardy and thick socks for the plane (I always get nippy on there) and also rolled up leggings in my bag incase my legs were freezing while still in this country. Wore sandals. Then when I arrived at hot destination, I had bare shoulders and arms and held my dress up to my knees if my legs were roasting.

Loads of great ideas there. Thank you so much. Comfort definitely seems the way to go! And layers. Will have to look for pashmina/wrap I think as I always get cold mid flights!
Think I might keep pair of flip flops in hand luggage to change into on arrival in Mexico too -will be too cold to wear on flight!

I flew to Brisbane in the summer and wore NEXT jersey tapered trousers, cotton t shirt and a merino jumper from Uniqulo - it was perfect! Oh and my surpremely unstylish Skecher Go Walks --bloody love them!--

American apparel have some great lightweight cotton yoga type trousers that are good for flying. They are like pyjama bottoms.
