Impossible? Smart black (fleece lined) jacket help

Looking for this:

  1. hip length (not cropped)
  2. black
  3. jacket that zips down the front
  4. is fleece or is fleece lined and
  5. looks smart.
  6. AND HAS NO HOOD!

Basically a smart looking black fleece/sports type jacket with a cosy fleece lining.

Price isn't important if I can get this exactly.

I had a really lovely designer fleece jacket that is on its last legs. It was fleece lined (and lovely soft against the skin snuggly fleece) but the outside was more a very matt neoprene type fabric. It wasn't actually neoprene but that was the look so the over all effect was very smart. Although it was basically sports wear, it didn't look it.

I can find anything similar. Everything either looks smart but is not fleece inside (or if it is fleece is not nice quality snuggly fleece) or is completely fleece (ie the outside is fleece/cheap cotton) so looks like a very casual item or has a hood.

I've done lots of searching but no results.

Can anyone help me please?

Sigh. I guess it's hopeless. These are the closest. Thanks for help but unless there is a miracle saviour out there I guess I'm resigned to facing the fact my old one is a rare perfect item never to be replaced.

www.matchesfashion.com/products/1018659 - very nearly perfect but has hood and branding on back.

www.bench.co.uk/eddas-dark-grey?bench_b2c_ignoregeoip=1&gclid=CPbUnqW8vcgCFQs8Gwod2OoKbg - also very good but dark grey not black

www.net-a-porter.com/gb/en/product/609548 - smart exterior but no fleece.

Thanks SaveOurBog - but I was looking for something a bit fashion-y and not personal protection work wear! I'm not after a soft shell outer but more of a material fleece.

I think as I said in the heading this is an impossible dream!

or these?

Thanks bookbook. The SubZero one actually looks OK even though it is described as soft shell doesn't look like soft shell. But it's ruined by the massive SubZero logo which takes away from the smart look.

I found this today which is a man's jacket but the closest thing I've found so far.

What do you think? Is it too manly?

OP posts:
bookbook · 13/10/2015 21:15

Might it fit a bit loose across the shoulders, being a mans?
And yes , I know what you mean about the logo they are everywhere!

bookbook · 13/10/2015 21:32

Is this one too 'outdoors" being rainproof? Mens again!

Does it have to be fleece lined? How about down filled? www.nobis.ca/F15/jackets/taylor.html

realhousewifeoffitzrovia · 14/10/2015 06:44

What about getting the jacket you want and having a tailor add fleece lining to it? Might cost about £25 or so for the tailoring, but the fleece would be just a couple of quid I would think.

CheersMedea · 14/10/2015 16:42

Thanks for further ideas.

I very much like the Callie one bookbook - lovely logo-free too - but sadly only in a small!!

Moose- I'm looking for more an "indoor"/ layer item than an outdoor

realhouse wife - an interesting idea but fear Michelin man result! getting a whole one made from scratch copying my existing one isn't a bad thought though.

any good?

This is why I sew - because I want things that are smart AND warm which seems to be an unheard of combination.

If you opt for getting one made from a copy of a current jacket, can I recommend you ask for a warm interlining as well as a fleece lining. It will give the fabric added structure for formality, and will make it warmer to wear (particularly anywhere drafty) which will add to the warmth.

Be careful though - once you get used to clothes made to your exact requirements it's a hard habit to break!
