do sexy thermals exist?

Am planning a skiing holiday with a relatively new bf….but I get really, really cold, and need thermals and lots of unsexy clothes - is there such a thing as sexy thermal underwear or other things I'll need? TIA!!

Sweaty Betty do the most stylish thermals I've seen. They should be bringing their skiing range out soon.

I also have some lovely print helly Hansen thermals.

uniqlo?

BaffledShirley · 10/10/2015 17:17

I'd go for merino base layers for skiing rather than full on thermals, try Finisterre/Howies/Icebreaker. Then have nice/sexy undercrackers instead.

I love this. Grin
Honestly, he won't give a shiny shite what your thermals look like. Just get what you need.
I am reminded of the horrible truth lurking beneath a fighter pilot's suit. Grin
Have a lovely holiday.

madwoman has it. I went skiing with (now) DH after three dates. There are some very fetching photos of me in some old lady thermals somewhere, he cared not one bit.

I do have some Icebreaker though, they are fantastic.

Must add though that I bought some of this range from JL last year - not bad really, still not sexy though.

Skins are better than baggy thermals, and warmer.

madwomanbackintheattic · 10/10/2015 17:45

The first time I went skiing with dh (then newish bf) I cried. It was mortifying. I just could not work out how I was supposed to get back up with these bastard planks attached and I felt like a complete loser. I am not a cryer. He has probably seen me cry four times in twenty years, and that includes deaths, disabled babies and all sorts. I have absolutely no recollection what thermals I wore (probably threadbare navy hellys)

Not all gloom though. We now live in a ski resort. Grin

madwoman Grin, DH had just spent a few years living in a ski resort (part of the rescue team in his Uni years) when I met him, he was, and is amazing, whereas I was/am very mediocre.

When we got back I brought him down to earth by sitting him on my eventer, poor man, he was back at the barn in seconds and had no control over that decision.

Ah, the literal horses for courses Grin

FreeButtonBee · 10/10/2015 18:11

Uniqlo heattech or M&s heatgen thermals are at least simple and non-granny but sexy they ain't. Save your money for gluhwine in the slopes and paying for the best ski socks and boots you can buy/rent (nothing is less sexy than crying over painful toes/feet)

smaths · 10/10/2015 18:39

Sportspursuit often have some really nice base layers, I've got some great merino stuff from there before

Dowser · 10/10/2015 19:28

Saw the ones in m and s today . Some nice colours.

Stay warm and have some nice undies.

Skiing is a cold messy business anyway

PedantPending · 10/10/2015 21:12

Patra silk thermal underwear.

confusedaboutlostpassword · 11/10/2015 20:42
