Does this dress make you think gorgeous and autumnal or resembles a pair of curtains?

I can't decide...what do you think of this dress please?

If I curled up in front of the fire in that dress I would be worried about being mistaken for the sofa grin

But I am quite well upholstered.

just I do like that, although it's more the kind of dress I would wear for work. Where is it from?

Whispers..... M & co!

justaweeone · 08/10/2015 16:06

Through, know what you mean. Is it specifically velvet you want?

PrimalLass · 08/10/2015 16:09

Curtains - sorry Blush

OooooohMissDiane · 08/10/2015 16:11

The 1990s called - It wants its dress back.

Nabootique · 08/10/2015 16:16

Ahhh! OooooohMissDiane just beat me to it! 15 year old me would have loved that, teamed with ripped tights, DMs and too much eyeliner.

Nabootique · 08/10/2015 16:17

I don't mean that as a negative though. I do like it.

CherylTunt · 08/10/2015 16:21

Yep, me too Grin

I still like that look mind...

MelanieCheeks · 08/10/2015 16:23

I thought Riverdance too (but I also kinda like it and am tempted to try it on myself....)

hiccupgirl · 08/10/2015 16:24

I really like it but I'm not sure it would work for an apple shape. I would wear it for the kind of do your saying though.

Can you get to a store to try it on - you could it into store in your size and then return it straightaway if it's hideous.

NewLife4Me · 08/10/2015 16:25

Very expensive curtains. Grin
It's the combination of fabric and design, a plain block colour would be better.

Troubletutmill · 08/10/2015 16:27

Curtains and curtains in the home of a very aged great aunt who insisted that tea is always served in bone china and would give you stern looks if you stepped out of line.

ThroughTheLongNight · 08/10/2015 16:36

Thanks for your honesty Grin.

Trouble apart from the aged bit, you describe me to a tee.

Cheryl You have made my day. I think that is the first time I have ever been quoted in my 3 years active on MN! Grin Sorry OP

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 08/10/2015 16:51

Curtains or 70's carpet. Really is not great.

The other dress pictured on this thread is much nicer.

Toooldtobearsed · 08/10/2015 17:00

Oh bugger, I am obviously a frump, I love your dress Sad

Nabootique · 08/10/2015 17:01

Toooldtobearsed You're not a frump, you're retro like Cheryl and I.

Pandora97 · 08/10/2015 17:08

I actually quite like it as well and think it's fine for the type of party you want. It does look like it might be tight across the stomach though, it's difficult to tell in the pictures and on that model! Definitely one to try on.

PrimalLass · 08/10/2015 17:09

And me, but I would have chopped the bottom off so it barely covered my backside.

ThroughTheLongNight · 08/10/2015 17:32

I'd rather be retro than a frump.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 08/10/2015 19:43

I like the shape and the print, but I don't like the print combined with the velvet.

Doobigetta · 08/10/2015 19:50

Not curtains, but you know those 70s pictures done on velvet? Sorry.
