Skincare confusion - when to use what product!

I'm early 40s and luckily haven't had any skin problems until now so my skincare "routine" consisted of cleaning with a wipe and then more recently melting gel cleanser, and a quick lick of night cream, always something cheap & cheerful.

Really since turning 40 I notice lines and feel my skin is lacking any sort of radiance so I'd like to improve things if I can. I have bought a few things but I'm not quite sure how to use them.

I have Superdrug's Naturally Radiant Overnight Glycolic Peel. Do I just use that after cleansing and nothing else? I have Olay's Regenerist Night Elixir when do I use that? Before or after night cream? I got Strident 2% Salicylic Acid pads for my DH and am wondering if I should use them once a week as a deep treatment but again am confused about when or in what order to use them

Basically, I'm clueless about it all and feel quite dopey Confused

Help! (please)

In the absence of anyone else, and the directions on your products....
The overnight glycolic peel might be too much for every night, but when you are using it, I would use it after cleansing. Night elixir before night cream. Acid pads on their own after cleansing I presume.

Hello. The peel should be two or three times a week, after cleansing , like Pulling said. Don't put anything else on top of it. The pads would be after cleansing, before serum, which is the Olay, so that next, then night cream.

Thanks so much Nabootique

I used the overnight peel last night and didn't put anything else over it. My skin felt really tight so I was wondering should I have put night cream over it! (I didn't)

Better start doing it all earlier in the evening or it will be all hours before I'm actually able to get into bed!!

If that's the case, it might be a good idea to put the peel on early PM, let it do its stuff, and then pop a bit of night cream on just before bed.

If I use Liquid Gold (another glycolic treatment) this is what I tend to do. The product suggests nothing else on top as this stops the potency of the treatment, but I like a bit of moisture and leaving it alone for a few hours seems like a compromise.
