Such dry skin!

Help you knowledgeable people!

I have quite red bumpy skin on my arms, it eased a bit when I was pregnant but has worsened since. I do exfoliate occasionally and moisturise with E45 but it doesn't seem to work as well!
I'm going out at the end of the month for the first time since I had my lo and don't want to be worrying about my arms looking awful!

Any fail safe or brilliant products you could recommend?

Coconut oil is great for dry skin and is natural so less likely to irritate. I find it doesn't soak in quite quick enough for me to put it on in the mornings but before bed might be good. You can get it in holland and barratt, tesco etc. for about a fiver I think x

Sounds like keratosis piliaris, you need eucerin cream with urea, or flexitol cream for feet - the urea in both really helps, there are loads of threads about this :)

That's brilliant thanks!

Can't believe foot cream could be the answer to it all!

I know :) I have always had it, and before I got married I slapped the flexitol on every night, then nip & fab upper arm fix on every morning, and I had beautiful arms in no time :) (also helped by 6am weight training 3 times a week though!)

Almond oil in your bath, to which you could add a couple of drops of lavender essential oil if you have it, is amazingly moisturising and soothing.

Dr Organic Vit E body lotion is the best I have found - and won't irritate your skin. Available from Holland and Barrett for £6.50ish.

The two together will sort out dry skin in no time.

Vixxfacee · 04/10/2015 10:06

You should be moisturising your whole body daily.

lilmisslibrarian · 04/10/2015 11:42

I do moisturise daily but it's finding one that's the best and doesn't seem greasy. The almond oil in the bath sounds lovely too!

bearHow often is best to exfoliate my skin when I use the flexitol?

I agree with poster up thread, it sounds more like KP than dry skin. My little DD has this so bad on her arms, the whole length of her arms not just the top. Also has a bit on her legs too but arms see particularly bad. She's only 5 so I wouldn't be able to exfoliate or anything. I did actually try the flexitol cream after reading about it on here but it didn't work. When she's older we'll have to try other suggestions. If you search on this site alone you'll find lots of previous discussions and suggestions on how to clear it.

Thanks :) I've had a look and found lots of good advice so hopefully I'll find something that works for me.

I hope you find the same for your DD too mac

This works for me: www.ameliorate-skincare.com/skin-smoothing-body-lotion.html

It doesn't smell great and is a little sticky (and relatively pricey) - definitely dont use too much!

You should notice a difference in about 1 week.
