My hair is very broken, and always has been. There's loads of little broken ends poking out from my scalp all the way down to the tips. It's thick enough that I still have a good thick ponytail, but when I tie it back I have a little fluff halo. It's waist length, but was still broken when it was midback (I've never had it really short). I don't really have it loose or in tight ponytails.
I basically try to leave it alone. For that last couple of years I've been doing the following: I wash it twice a week Head & Shoulders 2-in-1 shampoo/conditioner (have to because otherwise my scalp flakes off) followed by actual conditioner. Rinse out in the shower and then do a final rinse in the sink with cold water. Wring out and wrap in a turban and then a quick blast with the hair dryer so it's damp rather than wet, then leave to dry naturally. I've tried using just conditioner, but I'm too greasy for that. Most days I just finger comb it, using a brush just to get my parting straight. Still fluffy. In fact it was like this when I didn't wash it all (grand university days).
I'm getting close to thinking I should just cut it all off because I'd like to look sleek and neat rather than fluffy and untidy. However, I really don't think that'd suit me.
Help!
