eyes lost their sparkle

I know that sounds odd but after a morning of socialising I noticed how sparkly and white some women's eyes are. Mine used to be like that but now they're dull, tired looking and red and watery.

So ladies how do I get my sparkle back?

Mine are the same. I returned from the school run to be faced by a scowling angry looking dull eyed woman staring back at me from my mirror. I think its lack of sleep in my case. I also know I'm anaemic

I know just how you feel. How do other women look so good with kids,jobs etc?

I'm thinking eye drops might help but I've no idea where to begin. I need to do something! They're sore as well.

You may have MGD (Meibomian gland dysfunction) where the glands along your lashes are clogged up. My eyes are always red and the optician confirmed MGD. It is quite common. You need hot flannels on your eyelids and then wipe across. You can also get a microwaveable wheat eye mask from Amazon that helps.

I think it's good sex! A twinkle/sparkle in the eye generally means a happy/busy sex life IME.

sonata are your eyes clearer now? I read about tis only last week then promptly forgot until this thread.
I do have dry eyes and use drops but they dont work for more than an hour or so. I would be so thrilled if hot flannels helped cure it.

Its something that you have to do frequently as they can just revert back to being clogged up. I got the MGD eyebag from Amazon. It's a faff to be honest and if you wear eye make up you can only use it before you apply it or at night.Plus it heats up your cheeks and nose as you lay the bag across your eyes.Saying that, it does help and your eyes seem clearer after use. But it's for the long haul.Not a quick fix.

No sex here. I can't be bothered. I don't feel at all sexy and would rather have a cup of tea Wink.

I'm totally shattered and worn down. An early night is just thatSmile. Sex drive has died a very big death since dc2. I feel frumpy and like a housekeeper rather than an attractive, sexy woman. I fear those days are gone for a few years yet.

I used to use eyedew blue drops in my youth. They seemed to work but I heard all sorts of horror stories about them so stopped using them.

I dont know how old you all are but i think for me its age. Just a few years ago i still felt young and felt i looked pretty good. This year at 47, i feel as if its all gone to pot. I feel my face looks 'flat' and washed out pasty face of a 40 year old. Feel my eyes look tired and i have a slight shadow under them. Its depressing me :(

Im 48, and a single parent to three autistic sons, who are often awake during the night, so I never get enough sleep. Think that is where the problem lies for me. Its just something I have to live with.

Water. Lots of it. It might sound daft, but I have dry eyes and find upping my water intake helps massively in making my eyes look clearer.

All of the above and for special occasions, Visine - it kills all redness but don't use them all the time or your eyeballs will fall out, probably.

Optrex used to be the thing if more sleep is out of the question. Don't know if it's still around?

I've also found that alcohol - even small amounts - does my eyes/face no favours at all these days. Caffeine is probably as bad but no way am I letting go of that so you'll all just have to put up.

Sunglasses are always in my handbag these days. Dark shadows, crows feet, red eyes, all gone!

I also find wearing certain colours - and avoiding others - makes a huge difference. There's a particular shade of purple (think heather) that makes my eyes look shinier and my skin all glowy. On the other hand, if I wear black next to my face I look look like I've got 2 weeks to live. Navy and beige aren't a lot better.

I've bought optrex tired eyes and omg the relief of just one drop! No more sore eyes.

I don't drink much alcohol. I'm too old Wink

I used eyedew blue which if used everyday makes your eyes fall out apparently. It works though!

Oh and I've put a Matt purple/brown shadow in and that's certainly helped!
