Deep conditioning treatment

My hair is a state at the moment. No idea what's going on with it! I'm getting it cut at the weekend but it's gone super dry and frizzy all of a sudden so I think I need a good conditioning treatment.

Can anyone recommend anything that's not horrendously expensive? I'm talking less than a tenner. The cheaper the better Grin

Coconut oil is really cheap. Some supermarkets will have it, where it will be cheapest, but you can also get it in Boots and Holland and Barrett.

I have coconut oil! Although I've almost finished the jar. Do you just slap it on and leave it for a while?

I got mustard oil from the supermarket for less then £2 and it's amazing. It does smell.....like mustard. But my hair is so soft and shiny afterwards it's worth it.

I haven't use it myself as my hair is fine and prone to oiliness (humph) but other MNers seem to advise slap it on dry hair, wrap up in old towel or cling film to really intensify, leave as desired then shampoo out.

I bought a pot of argon oil leave in conditioner because my hair was horrendously frizzy at the ends. Put loads on and left it on overnight, when I washed my hair the next day I could really feel the difference at the ends, they weren't crazy and matted like they normally are. It's a short term fix because I really need to get the dead ends snipped off but left my hair feeling a lot smoother.

Also the pot was £1 I think, from B&M Bargains!

I've never heard of mustard oil!

I am getting it cut this weekend so it shouldn't be as bad afterwards, but I get a frizzy crown around the top of my head which just looks awful.

Thanks for the suggestions so far.

I have thinning, dry thyroid hair and the best conditioner i have found is the red and black tub of Tresemme Expert Selection Keratin Smooth treatment masque.I use it as a normal conditioner after each wash. I leave it on whilst having lunch and wash off and style afterwards. You can usually find it on offer at Asda or Superdrug etc.

Aveda's deep reconditioning damage remedy - use it overnight on bleached ends plus Redken's split end serum. Not cheap but brilliant

As sonata1 said, the tresemme red tub one is truly brilliant. As good as kerestase masquintense, which was the previous gold standard treatment for me. My adult dd and I are both evangelical about it.
