I am after recomendations for a primer to wear beneath foundation. I have dry skin with red patches that I want to disguise & the odd blemish . Ideally I would love to have a fresh glowing look ! Thanks for any help .

Benefit ThatGal is the glowiest one I've found, and it's also not drying. It does give a nice base, but it doesn't cover like a concealer. There's another Benefit one, maybe Hello Flawless, which covers a bit, but I don't like it as much, I find it a bit drying.

I'm currently using Smashbox photofinish, which is similar to the second Benefit one but doesn't seem as drying. I also like the Rimmel primer for the texture (and the price). I didn't get on at all with the Laura Mercier, or the Maybelline, they both made dry patches very noticeable.

ive tried no 7 , Laura Mercier and clarins in a red pot . Clarins was definitely the best .

I use Dior Glow Maximiser which is fabulous.

I use it on top of moisturiser and under bronzer. I haven't tried it with foundation.

I have trecrntly bough Rimmel one in white and red tube and find it food and cheap but fancy the Dior one

I like MAC Prep and Prime Skin. Also I used to use Estee Lauder Idealist. Both of which mean my foundation goes on really smoothly without any dry or flaky bits. I don't like cheaper more "solid" ones like Maybeline or Rimmel which feels really filmy on the skin.

The green smashbox one I'm a bit dry/ spotty/ red and it works well for me. It's like a lovely silky film on the skin.

GOSH is quite nice and only a tenner.

Hmm maybe a hydrating primer? Smashbox and Pur Minerals (M&S) both do them (blue gel), and MUA have just brought one out that's a fiver. Also perhaps this?

The Pixi ones are lovely. No silicone and nice and hydrating. The Flawless Beauty Primer is nice for glow, but they've also got a green tinted one that could be good if you're prone to redness (I've not tried that one personally, but the other two are great so can't imagine it wouldn't be a winner).
