Hairdryer recommendations please

I'm on the hunt for a new hair dryer that will take my frizzy locks! My hair is more frizzy than curly, average thickness and dye to within an inch of its life! Currently shoulder length but will be getting chopped next week so will be a bit harder to tame the frizz, so need a thin nozzle attachment
My current one blew up and I'm using a travel hairdryer just now which is a nightmare to get my hair straight.
Budget of about £50-£70

You need a lot of Watts! My hair is long but otherwise similar so look for one at least 1500+.

The ionic ones worked well with my hair and you can get them for less than £50. If you can spend more then try a GHD Air, blasts mine dry in 10 mins which amazes me.

Thanks, I'll have a look at the ghd dryer.

I've got a Purlux (sp?) one, I think it's the brand most hairdressers use, it's got a really long lead which I like and is powerful so gets to work on my thick hair quickly.

Luckystar1 · 27/09/2015 09:45

I second the Parlux. I have had one for about 15 years now (the same one), never a moments trouble, great power and dries my very thick, wavy hair quickly. I have to take it everywhere with me as I can't hack any other dryer, and even better it doesn't suck your hair in the back like other dryers do (I only remember this on the very rare occasion I use a different one and I end up with singed hair.)

HarlettOScara · 27/09/2015 09:49

Another vote for Parlux. Mine is also approaching its 15th birthday do well worth the money.

I just want one with a cord which doesn't twist up until it's about a foot long.

Currently drying my hair crouched next to the floor-height socket.

Get a professional one, whatever the brand. So much better than regular ones, and well worth the money. Will last for years. Mine is >15 years of daily use

We have Parlux bought from Sallys. Try to find a friend with a Sallys/Salon Services ard and wait until a VAT free day.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll look at parlux too.

tethersend I have that issue too but with my straighteners, so annoying and I must be doing damage to the wires!

I am looking for a hair dryer. Which Parlux models are the best please?

sonata1 · 28/09/2015 15:01

I have the Parlux 3200 compact but I don't know if they still do that one. It's years old and still going strong. I thought that I read somewhere that due to EU rules they were phasing out the high wattage hairdryers. Does anyone know if this is correct?

ShakespearesSister01 · 28/09/2015 18:23

Ghd! Not a fan of their latest straighteners or curlers but the hairdryer I have is amazing. Blow dries so fast and no static

TheDowagerCuntess · 28/09/2015 18:26

Marking place.

gd1976 · 28/09/2015 19:10

Parlux! Amazing!

lotty28 · 28/09/2015 20:01

What parlux model do you all recommend?
