AIBU to expect a powder puff when I buy powder?

Just bought Bourjois Healthy Balance powder, I wanted some pressed powder to carry around in my handbag. Get it home, open it, and there's no applicator inside! I'm not even 100% sure there is room for one either.

No way am I going to carry around a separate applicator in a little bag if one doesn't fit!

Really disappointed first world problem

Sounds a bit like an economy measure to me...

I can't remember seeing one in a high st brand powder for years. I have a small make up bag in my bag with a brush. Although I actually use that Bourjois powder and rarely need to reapply during the day.

stripytees the last one I had was from No 7 and had an applicator included. It was probably years old though... It lasted well until I dropped it last week.

I think maybe max factor still puts a puff in.

I use some other brand and I bought a puff and crammed it in there.

I hate those puff things anyway, never use them. They get so manky. I like that Bourjois powder tho. Tis good.

I love my Hello Flawless pressed powder by Benefit. Has a sponge and little brush in the base.

Boots 17 has one. Rimmed does not, as I found out last week Angry.
I am a cheapskate and don't spend much on makeup.

The Revlon one has one. I don't use it but it does.

Get a little collapsible powder brush (in a tube like a lipstick) - much better applicator than one of those rubbish pads.

It makes Bette sad too

I prefer using a brush - it looks less cakey on the skin IMO.

But puffs aren't that expensive (and it's good to replace them every so often anyway as they don't wash well, will house loads of bacteria and oil from your skin - and having the puff with the oil and bacteria right on the powder can ruin the powder.
Mac - who aren't the cheapest - have sets of two powder puffs (different kinds available) for £4.50.

And yes, it is annoying it's not included if you expected it to be and it wasn't clear from the information on the packaging.

IPokeBadgers · 28/09/2015 14:47

I would expect one in more expensive make-up, but would prefer to use a brush anyway.

I would have expected one in a Bourjois product, for some reason I have a notion that they are a little more posh than the real budget brands?

hippospot · 28/09/2015 16:05

Anyway I think the best idea is a telescopic powder brush, thanks for giving me the idea Cointreau

Hmm I seem to remember Bourjois powder compacts having them in the past?

Collection and (slightly weirdly given their cheapness) NYC both come with puffs. Korean pacts come with them, and with separators too so they don't get manky!

I think L'Oreal True Match powder comes with a little brush? Their blush does too.
