Reassure me about saggy ankles on leather boots

With a little financial creativity I could stretch to my first ever Uggs. I know, fantastic, aren't they? But, the last pair of fantastic leather boots (Duo) I bought ended up with saggy, baggy ankles that just ruined everything about them for me. Do all leather boots end up with loose, wrinkled ankles? These are too beautiful for me to become disillusioned with them...

Am I the only one with weird ankles?

if it's your tight that are getting dragged down by the boots- yes very common. What to do? =leggings and socks?

I feel your pain. I find it v hard to find boots which don't sag at the ankles. I have a pair from Fly London which don't sag too much, still aren't the sleek look other people have.

Amarmai, I get the Nora Batty tights thing too, but that's a whole different thread! I think the leather probably flexes and softens more around the ankle with the movement if my foot, so they seem to wrinkle and sag, if that makes sense.

Turkeyboots, that's it, the sleek look goes and I feel like I have to pull them up and straighten them out all the time. See, I can imagine the beautiful boots turning me into a willowy, long legged goddess rocking a chic 70s vibe. I can't do that with baggy ankles.

Is it because they fit too snuggly at the top of the calf ?
perhaps you need boots that "stand" up on their own and aren't too fitting on one place.
It's a bloody struggle finding the perfect boot . My ankles are skinny and my calves are really long so most boots finish on the widest part rather than the bit that goes in . They then grab there and ride down.
I have only had real success with boots that are quite firm leather or a bit wider at the top . These look good though . Did you try them on ?

Yalla, I would have to buy online which means I can't even see how the shop floor pair are holding up. I'm not entirely sure what you mean by fitting too snuggly? I have fairly big calves, but don't have problems getting the zip up any more and I definitely don't have welly issues. I have small enough ankles by comparison to my calves though, so that probably doesn't help.

I think they wrinkle when your ankles are thinner and calves thicker than the standard measurements they have made the boots to. I've had a Belstaff boot zip break at the ankle because of the wrinkling . They repaired them but :( .
I've a friend who had boots custom made in Spain and they are lovely . Very tempted .

I look for styles that nip in at the ankle. I've had one pair that had a buckle there that you could tighten, one that laced up and another couple that had elastic panels going up the side.

I love the sound of custom made boots. I would love that.

Custom made boots do sound amazing. I'm not sure I'd ever be able to commit to one design though!

I think I'm going to forgo the beautiful boots. I was looking at drooling over them again earlier and even in the pics online you can see a bit of creasing and sagging. I've found some suede boots in a similar style on M&S but half the price, so they might be a better starting point.
