bra help needed

I need some new bras as mine are looking tired! Currently the bras i have are mainly 38C (measured by M&S). I'm not sure if its because I tend to buy t shirt bras but i find that I don't really feel supported.

I have just measured myself and my underbust is 33" and my bust is 39" can someone advise me what sort of sizes I should try first and any shop recommendations. I just tend to go to M&S for ease, but am happy to go anywhere. Also any advice on a better style would be appreciated too.

Try a 32E or 34DD, ideally not M&S but Bravissimo or John Lewis. T-shirt bras are also not easy to get to fit perfectly because the cups are moulded.

Actually, is that overbust measurement taken leaning forward? It should be.

Hi maresea - hope you don't mind me jumping in on your thread, but I was after similar advice myself.

Tired bras, straps slide off /dig in, underwiring pokes in and leaves a red mark a good inch into breast tissue part.

So I measured: 32.5 inch under; 41 at 'lowest hanging' when leant forward. I've been wearing a 34 c or d. Am I right in thinking I should try 32 f? Blimey!

treaclesoda · 22/09/2015 21:22

smellie I would suggest maybe a 32G or around that size.

If the straps slide off, it is most likely that the bra is too wide in the band - the straps will be set too wide on the elastic for your body shape, so they will sit on the edge of your shoulders and slip off.

If the wires are digging into your breast tissue, the cups are too small - in the right cup size, the wires won't be on your breast tissue, they will be around the outside of the breast tissue, so digging in won't happen. Similarly, the wires poking out the front is caused by the cup size being too small, as the weight of your breasts is pushing the bra outwards as there just isn't enough room in it.

Happy shopping Smile

when I say 'on the elastic' I worded that badly and I actually meant on the band of the bra.

Bravissimo. They'll measure you, give you priceless advice & the bras are beyond excellent. Jobs done.

mareseatoatsanddoeseatoats · 22/09/2015 21:37

Thank you , yes i leant forwards. I will start with those sizes and see how i get on. I will try more fabric type bras too and see if that makes a difference. i just usually go for t shirt bras as they are smooth so don't show under t shirts.
